View Full Version : Wiring requests......

Everyone,

I'm finding access to a LOT of OEM connectors for our wiring harnesses as part of working on Steve's car. So I want to ask if there are any special requests for pigtails, specialized harnesses, etc., that you want to see.

Post up any ideas you have or things you'd want to see in the future.

For right now, in the immediate future, I'll be coming out with the following:

A4 to M6 swap conversion kit. This will NOT be plug and play due to no plug for the PNP switch connector being available. Kit will include pigtails for the Clutch Safety switch, Backup Lights, VSS, and Reverse Lockout Solenoid (with a cavity plug to repin a TCC wire on the ECM to use with the reverse lockout) with detailed wiring instructions for the transmission swap. I have to finalize the numbers but I'm shooting for a price point of $25 for the kit, which is going to be probably about a 60%+ savings over what GM would charge for new pigtails. Pics coming next week......waiting on a large parts shipment.

Opti Harnesses (92-94 soon, Vented harness coming later)

I'm looking to see what some higher demand items would be also so stay tuned. As usual, my prices will be very low for these and anything else.

The donor 97 TA is an M6 car and I want to use its harness on my 93 A4 car do you know if it will work or do I need parts from you?
Thanks Fastbird.

I would be very interested in the m6 swap kit. One possible what about a 97-02 camaro taillight conversion harness? I can find lenses but the wiring is much harder to come across.

Will look into that. Easily done.

I'd have to get my hands on a 97-02 Camaro to compare harness/plugs, have a buddy who just bought a 94 that I can use. Will look into it if opportunity presents itself. Truthfully I wasn't aware there was tail light harness wiring swaps for those.

Are you using the ENTIRE harness or just the engine harness? I'd have to do some research on that one depending on the answer.

Yeah something about the way the turn signals work between the two

I was going to use the 93 harness for the engine swap as well as the stuff from the 97 if I can just for the M6 swap.

That's nice but WAY overkill. Why on a relay unless you want it to cycle ONLY when the key is in run. Most EWP guys want that Key On cycling to run coolant in the pits while the motor is how.

Tony, how would you want it set up if I did that for you? Through a relay so it's on when running, or through the fuse box so it's running when power is on?

Ok, the 93 engine harness will need one plug changed right off the top of my head, that being for the IAC motor. You'd be better served just using the 93 harness for everything unless something is severely trashed. Due to the ECM differences, the 97 interior harness wno't work on the 93 as I'm thinking about it off the top of my head, especially speaking for the gauges. So really you'd just need to do the M6 swap parts and that wiring to make the 93 A4 harness work with the T-56, and change a couple of connectors on the engien harness to work with the 97 Motor. Bear with me, I'm freaking tired and may be confusing myself as of right now.

Thank you for the help, this is just one reason this is the best site out there bar none.

93-96 tails to 97 would be good. Dunno what it'd cost to buying one used tho. I cut up my harness and redid the whole thing for it.
Fuel pump Hotwire would be good too even tho I think racetronix already has one.

Or, a harness to run dual pumps w/ Hobbs switch.

The fuel pump wiring.........I'm probably not going there. Racetronix pretty much has that on lockdown. Their work is incredible. Plus, I haven't figured out how they're relaying the setup for the dual's with the hobbs to run as factory, and I looked for a damn LONG time to try to find that bulkhead connector they're using and can't come up with it.

That bulkhead connector isn't a stock item at the big suppliers. So you will have to order the minimum package of 2,000 pieces. I have the part number if you want it.

I'm super impressed that you have the part number. I never found anything on it. 2000 pieces is crazy........what's that pn though?

A headlight/turn signal harness that allows me to stash fuseblock in the car and run the hot leads to the battery in the trunk.

Simple. lol.
