Hey guys.

How is the steering on factory sized front tires, for those of you using a dedicated manual rack and pinion setup (NOT a factory looped setup)?

I want to relocate my alternator and need to get rid of the power steering.

Thanks!

A buddy of mine purchased a Madman manual rack for his camaro. It has 275's on the front. Says its a MUCH improvement from a powerless powersteering rack lol.

As for the accessory deletes. Are you getting rid of A/C too? If not, all you need is an alternator relocation bracket and remove the factory accessory bracket.

I have removed the AC already. I want to relocate my alternator so I can run my tall valve covers without cutting the passenger side cover.

I don't understand why I can't find a cheap kit that allows the power steering and low mount alternator to run together. This is why I now want to delete the power steering. Street and Performance has one, but it is expensive.

I called MadMan, and the guy there told me he does not recommend this rack for a street car. However, all the guys who have the MadMan rack seem to love it, even for the street.

Always wished i could run a manual rack. Buy it would be brutal in the track and around town. With my small steering wheel and 275 upfront

Well I will soon find out how it feels. Alternator only and a manual rack. At least she'll be a bit lighter.

I'm interested to hear your review. I'm running a 350mm steering wheel and 275s. I've also wanted a manual rack but was unsure how bad it would be while driving slow.
