I've got nothing else to do, so I'm googling looking at the various LT1 Cam shootouts that I can find on the internet. I found this one from Popular Hotrodding (http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0912phr_lt1_block_and_cams/viewall.html). They built a 377 stroker & topped it with an Edelbrock LT4 package. The biggest cam they tested was a CompCams' 468 (242/248 ) & made 500 hp at the crank.

Two things I wanted to know.

First, any of you running a cam with similar specs to the 468? They said there was no denying the lope. Most of you are running bigger engines anyway, so I was wondering how would you characterize the lope.

Second, Aren't most of you running more than 500hp at the crank?

500 at the crank is a little over 400 at the wheels given drivetrain loss. For most of the builds out there, this is about the average. The ones making more are typically well planned out and carefully pieced together builds based off experience and finding the deficiencies in the other builds prior.
