I know that you used to be able to pick these things up for a Mustang pretty cheap because they were CARB legal low boot units for around 1000-1500 complete and in either new or like new condition but that was years ago when I still did 5 liter cars.

I see. So even a $1000 would be high?

Well comparitavely a 5.0 Turbo kit can be had for like $1200 where as its much higher for our cars. I'm not familiar with that brand s/c so I can't really comment on pricing just throwing in the fact 5.0 boost stuff can be cheaper

Post up some specs on the blower. I'm not familiar with it. Depending on how it's set up, I'd guess it's probably for about 4-6 PSI. Depending on what you want to do it might be worth it.

Trying to look for it. I know its a 4.5psi, and that it is not oil cooled. He said the SC has been built up when it was rebuilt. Plans would just be bigger injectors, fuel pump and a tune.

If it was a procharger, Id say it was well worth the money.. but I dont know if its a comperable type unit....
I know nothing about these...

These units seemed to work ok but yes I would go for another maker if I were you and also anything here in Cali that is carrying that CARB id plate number is going to be low boost because as you know Cali is rough on performance parts smogwise.
I knew several of my 5.0 friends who had them and had no problems but like I said you must keep in mind that it is low boost and for the same money you can get a better engineered system if you keep looking.
My two cents worth LOL.

Yeah looks like it might not be the best idea. Looks like upgrading the fuel pump is a big deal as well. Or am i wrong?

not at all.... I think a single 255 can handle 500 rwhp.... and if you cut the access plate in the hatch, you dont even have to drop or unhook any of the components under the car.

This was something I was going to do the first time I have a fuel pump problem but I will drop the tank first so I can get the location right and make a small trap door arrangement for it.

Thats great because the only reason I was going to drop the tank was to make damed sure that the door was spot on, do you still happen to have the diagram handy?

Let me talk to LEADFOOTLT1... he was the one that found it....
Worst case scenario, I can measure out mine and make you a measured template...
This is how accurate it was...

That will work good but there is no hair on fire emergency so I can wait I think (hope) although the pump does make weird noises that I do unfortunately recognize as not so good LOL.

This is why I joined this site because nobody here is going to hate on you for not just doing what they have done ect like I personally have heard "just do the LS conversion" ect.
Here people care about each other and really want to help out even if it is just "Hey this is what I did and it worked for me" I have yet to see anyplace like this one and I have been to other places.
No other site is remotely like LTXtech.com, I once went to a place who shall remain nameless and was trying to sell a brand F part for a friend but did not know everything about it, I was just trying to hook up interested partys ya know.
I got this as a response "You should delete your account if you dont know what you are selling you noob!" I responded by saying " ok I am sorry for the misspost but I was trying to do a friend a solid and by the way the last time I heard the term "noob" my youngest son said it and he is 13 so I guess you must not only be around the same age but also I must ask this question, Do you actually drive?
I would guess that you dont so all I can say is have a good day at Middle school tomorrow, and tell your friends how you TOTALLY told somebody off.
The funny part is that this person never apologized but his friends totally made fun of him and welcomed me to the site and he never said much after this LOL.

You know i'm finding a lot of negative info on this SC. I think my best bet is to save a little more and go with a LE2 head and cam package.

This is probably your best bet because for that kind of cash I think you will be happier with the cam/head combo.
Member justanlt1 is selling a new set of Brodix track 1 heads so you talk over a deal with him maybe.

imo i think you would be money ahead to do the heads/cam. those powerdyne units have poor reputation. i have heard there was a all gear version that was not to bad. the belt units were notorious about breaking the internal drive belt.

Yeah I want to make the right choices. While we are on the subject, I have some heads and cam package questions. I know you will need a TB, bigger injectors and fuel pump. But what other components do you need? Push rods? lifters? guide plates? roller rockers? And do I really NEED headers? I know long tubes will not work with CA emissions. I talked to Lloyd Elliot today, and he said he would upgrade the valves and springs. He also said that he has a package that will pass emissions, but I was in a rush and forgot to ask about the rest.

Looking forward to hearing the recommended parts to pass emissions since I live here in the Socialist Republic of California too but my car is registered in Lake county where there is no bi annual smog check program.
