Who all is running a drag suspension setup on the street? My car is going under the knife this winter and I'm hoping to have it back on the street by the end of Spring after resting on jackstands for TOO long.

It won't be a monster by any means, but it will be fun and I want it to transfer some weight. I plan on doing LCA's and relo brackets, but I want to see what spring/shock combo's you guys are running and how well they handle on the street. The last thing my car will do is attend road racing events, however I don't want it to handle like a pickup truck at the same time.

I am torn between a street/strip friendly setup and a budget drag setup. I've been researching and I keep eyeing up GMHTP's Dirty Bird project, where they got some good results out of it and spending little. I also do not need to slam my car with a 2" drop just so it looks good. Stock ride height is fine, I dig the 4x4 4th gen look.

Tell me about your setups, preferably the drag guys who also run on the street.

I run a UMI drag bar, CE shocks set at 50/50, UMI short chassis mount TA, UMA poly ended LCA, UMI poly ended panhard bar, and stock springs.

I drove it when it ran all the time on the street, was fun. Cut 1.5s on some hoosier QTPs out back. Pending how much engine work, you really don't need most of it, but my car did launch dead straight and was fun.

Strange DA coilovers with 300# springs, AJE K member and UMI lower A arms, no sway bar up front. MWC 9", rod end LCA's, PHB, and short tunnel mounted TA. BMR Xtreme ARB, Afco DA shocks, and stock springs out back. Makes some noise but nothing the radio can't cover. Ride is stiffer than stock but not gonna beat the hell out of you. Keep in mind this is comming from driving with Kirkey seats bolted directly to the floor and rear crossbar of the roll bar, you feel EVERYTHING and it's still not that bad. If you were gonna use stock or at least a somewhat padded seat it wouldn't feel much stiffer than stock suspension. BTW car has 28" ET Streets and 4" fronts.

Pa racing k member, spohn lower and upper front a arms, spohn chassis mount race torque arm, umi rear lower control arms, umi panhard, drag bar, qa1 adj coil overs in front with 300# springs, adj qa1 rears with stock springs, umi sfc's. Rides great with the shocks set on 6 all corners. Set them on kill at the track.

Thanks for the input, guys! I didn't think a drag suspension setup was so terrible on the street. It's great to get a feel for what you guys are running.

Here is a video Chris took in my car. No bumps, rattles or chunks. Camera is mounted to the car and it stays still.

I don't know that it qualifies as a drag suspension, but I'm 100% aftermarket suspension save for the front upper A-Arms and sway bars. List as follows:

Front:
BMR K-Member
UMI Lower A-Arms
QA1 Shocks
Hypercoil Springs

Rear:
UMI Tunnel Mount TQ Arm (poly bushings)
Midwest Chassis Rod Ended adjustable Control Arms
Founders Performance Rod Ended adjustable Panhard Bar
QA1 Shocks
Hypercoil Springs
Founders Performance LCA Relocation Brackets

I LOVE how solid the car feels and how responsive it is. No complaints at all. Also have BMR Subframe Connectors as an afterthought.

Lol officer sir.....what is not shown on the video is the officer that was behind me for this ride. Yes, all my small town local police as well as the many county boys that live in my neighborhood all know me. Not in a bad way and I will not divulge in what happens with certain good guys on the back country roads out here. Just sayin.... ;)
