That is the question. Bought some used trw -22cc forged pistons off of eBay for $270. They were listed as like new, ready to drop in, low mileage. Well I got them in yesterday and looked them over, there is very little wear on side skirts so I believe the low mileage part but it looks like in the process of removing or packing them they dinged a few of the edges up. My concern is that even though they could be cleaned up and with the possibly of stress fractures forming. Paying through PayPal I have the option of returning them and I'm leaning towards it at this point but I was just wondering if someone had any experience running a less than perfect piston. I'll post up a few pics in a minute

I guess I just didn't want to make an issue out of it if it was just cosmetic but the second one has a pretty good sized ding in it. im gonna send em back. Thanks

The scuffs on the first one are ...ehhhh give/take.... but that ding is unacceptable....

that's a failure waiting to happen. those dings will become a hot spot then a big hole then a desk ornament.

thanks guys. got em boxed up and ready. shame on me for not doing my homework on pricing though, summit has the same set of pistons in standard bore for $310.
