R/C Cars?

Anyone here still play with R/C cars? I just picked up a new one. It's an HPI Crawler King. It's a 1/10th scale setup with 6 inches of flex in the suspension. This thing is freaking awesome!! My buddy has one as well and we have a little rock crawling course setup that we smash through. I feel like a kid again lol

Some of those rock Crawler rcs are extremely detailed. I always wanted to buy one but they are so expensive

I got mine from Tower Hobbies, it was $229 without battery and charger with that it was ~$305. They have a promo going where if you spend 300+ you get $40 off so out the door I was $264 and change. Then they have the easy pay option which allows you to pay over 3 month's. My first payment was $111 then the next two are $76. :)

You don't know what awesome is until you tried a Traxxas R/C Cars, they are super fast.

Fast is fun but it won't get you over any rocks lol. I'm going to order a reduction box for it soon and then it will go over anything. Today I just cut the foam in the tires and added wheel weights to the front to keep the front end down in the rocks.

It's amazing how much you can mod rc cars just like real cars. I've wanted to get a nice one for a while, but my neighbor has one so I can pretty much play with it anytime I want.

Several years ago my wife bought me one, its an hpi nitro car. Came with a ls camaro ss body which I pretty much trashed running into stuff. So, of course I had to modify it to make it faster, added a new exhaust pipe, and better tires (with ugly rims). And got new bodies that I painted myself (they come clear). Naturally I had to go with the T/A, they are LS bodies cuz I couldnt find any LT bodies. This thing hauls some ass, like 40 MPH. 11617116181161911616

I have three, all are traxxas, a new emaxx that is now a waterproof brushless setup, does about 40-45mph, fast enough for a 12-14lb rc truck, a 1/16 grave digger that is now 4wd (yes, for some stupid reason it comes 2wd) and brushless, does about 25-30ish, moving for a truck that's onlu about a foot long, and a vxl rustler, does about 50-55. Just had an epic bashing session yesterday with some friends, running 4 trucks at once at a subdivision construction site, launching the trucks 12-14ft in the air off of big dirt hills.

I was in to them years ago with an RC10 and had a traxxas nitro truck. My dog would chase and eat any rc car that came anywhere near her LOL

wow... its been so long.... when i was 15... i spent a fortune on a chain driven awd turbo optima....

loved that thing.... used to always strip the plastic gears out in one of the rears....

I have two Traxxas Jato's. One is a 3.3 and has a few mods, According to my gps, it will do 73 mph. So hard to control, but its a blast. I take it to our local BMX bike course after everyone has gone and mess around. My second jato is a 2.5, and it has a 58x tooth on it with some big stampede dirt tires. Will only do 40, but it gets there fast! Plus with the big tires on it, it has the ground clearance and power to cover some pretty fun terrain. Nothing like that rock crawling though! lol

I had 2 of them years ago. They were just radio shack ones but I still had a blast with them. I looked into the real rc cars and never knew how expensive they can get. Still they are fun.

no joke with the price of them! i could have built my Camaro almost twice with the money i dumped in to this hobby! 10+ years and $20K+

do you mean a 6s set up? two 3s's run in series

I have added a slash 4x4 to my stable, has a hobbywing waterprrof speed control, and a big 4 pole 2700kv motor. Mostly run it on 2s, does about 30-35, and is a blast on 3s (40-45 and torque steers like a bitch), it'll handle 4s, just don't think it'll handle it. Really need to take some pics for you guys.

Ill have to get some Pics up but I have a Xray T4 that I use as a 17.5 Spec Blinky class, along with a Xray T3 2012 for my VTA car, 25.5 motor and runs with a 69' Camaro body :) and just purchased a RC18B2 buggy rescently and a SC10 4x4 FT last night off ebay!
