Well I wanted to have a harness to take to the shootout so everyone could take a look at my harness work. It still needs a couple things, such as the A/C compressor connector with inline diode. Firewall grommet, and a seal for the alternator connector. Those parts should be here this week, all besides the grommet. Im still looking for the part number for the fbody firewall grommet.

Please keep in mind, I can make just about anything you need wiring wise for GM vehicles. Whether it be fuel pump hotwire kits, fan kits for trucks, factory replacement harnesses. I can just about cover all of your wiring needs.

Here are the pics.

I think the 24x setup allows you to eliminate the Optispark. You can use coils and an LSx PCM - which in return opens up a door for tuning.

I am very interested in a harness and what the cost would be.

The cost for a harness from me will be $650. That includes a stock factory replacement harness without emissoins or a 24x harness for your vehicle. I understand thats a lot of cash, but there is A LOT of time and material that goes into this kind of harness. Attention to detail is what its all about.

1. Crimped and soldered splice points
2. All delphi terminals, seals, connectors and crimp tools are used.
3. Automotive TXL wire just like a factory harness.
4. Fbody Firewall grommet included
5. Factory quality loom, not the thin parts store junk.
6. High temp harness tape.

Just about everyone has seen my coil brackets. Here is how the package deal works.

1. New LS7 Coils
2. New Coil Harnesses
3. My Coil brackets
4. New Harness

Separately this package would normally cost $1050 But for ltx tech board members it is 1,000. For all brand new parts! That means you can do this conversion for less than 1,800 with all new parts except the pcm. Thats way better than options that were out there before!

Dude, that's some seriously solid work right there. If I come across anyone needing some wiring work done, I'll try to send 'em your way first.

what emissions stuff is deleted using this harness? how much would it be to have it added?

Rest of parts sourced, looks like ive found the elusive firewall grommet. So these will be just like a factory replacement harness. Had to buy some stuff in enormous bulk, some parts i had to order as many of 350 pieces to get a good price on them. :face_shocked: Hopefully, you LTX'ers out there choose to go with some new harnesses from me. :shiner:

Just depends on how much emissions you want in the harness. I can probably still do the 650 for a factory replacement.

Thanks! I offer a complete kit besides reluctor kit. I can sell you everything. It would all be new. Or you can source used coils and such. Ill be happy to help either way.

Forgot to mention that I am now offering MSD Custom made spark plug wires too. Just tell me the length you need and ill make em'. so now that means that I can supply you with absolutely everything that you need to complete the conversion besides the reluctor kit.

I definitely want the whole kit. It is just going to be a matter of when since the engine on my camaro went. I am hoping to purchase something soon over the winter for it. In terms of emissions I would prefer not to have them but the great state of NY insists I have them so we will have to discuss it when the time gets closer

As per are conversation on the harness for the 69 corvette I'm kinda on the fence Ill have to get back to you on that.

Its all good. as far as emissions and the 24x goes you need to look up the local emissions laws and pm me. The lt1 emissions are not compatable with the ls1 emissions. However, Im working on some kits that will use the lsx emissions on the ltx because emissions is a big reason why some cant do the 24x even if they want to.

Hey Bill,

I bought your old 24x setup when you parted out your build a year or so back. Got it in the car this year and its working very well super happy with it. As you know i didnt use your harness because it A) 96 vs 94, B) Auto C) No Emissions, D) Cxxx Connectors/In car connectors were cut as car was parted out no big deal. The harness was well put together but to those issues i had to repin it to a stock 94 6spd harness with emissions intact for smog police enforcement in the area it all has to be there even if its not functional and for looks only. Everything was cut spliced and taped very neatly and i highly rec his work. Its alot of time to put into these harness's plus your getting a brand new harness no old brittle wires!

Good luck with your business!

Matt

Matt,

I cut the wires because the harness was not going to be used, I knew you were just going to part out the harness any how. Plus, the guy that wanted my dash harness wanted the both sides of the connector for some reason. So it worked out for everyone like that since you were just needing the parts.

I sincerely appreciate the kind words. It means a LOT to me, and to my future customers. I guess the smog police up there dont care about it being obd II now?

We have smog police that setup stops to crack down on modded cars without emissions stuff intact and unsafe vehicles on the road. As for my smog testing im going to have a bit of fun since my air pump and egr and are not functional but due to the overlap in the cam it should help it pass. I have to do it before winter flies so it will be interesting lol. I wish i was a 98+ as it would be plug in only to check to make sure everything is functioning like it should be and thats it.

Are you able to do any accel dfi custom work? Like if I gave you pics of the connectors for the dfi harness and pin outs to add connectors to match on my stock sensor ends? Also have you thought about doing a piggy back harness for after market computers so you can retain the stock computer for stock gauge operation? I know there are companies out there doing this but the dollar amount they want is more than the cost of the aftermarket computer set up. I plan on converting my car over this winter and am capable of doing it myself, just don't have a lot of time with my day job and my shop. I also do a lot of motor swaps for customers and looking for someone to make specific conversion harnesses. Just throwing this all out there. Most of my swaps are customer requests to put LS based engines in cars. Currently doing a 1977 TA with a ls1/4l60e conversion.

Im sure I could do this, I am unfamiliar with the dfi. I would just have to familiarize myself with the system. I usually recommend the 24x for people that want broader/faster tuning options. So just give me a call sometime and ill see if I can accommodate you.

Im talking about the factory replacement grommet for an fbody. I can get them in bigger diameters for installing the pcm into the passenger compartment. If I recall you were possibly thinking about doing this?

That is correct. No need to buy 600 though, I can always find one.

I know its going to sound high for a grommet, but as stated before I had to buy 600 of them and I am the ONLY source to purchase them individually. I think $20 shipped should be fair. I can also get other grommets with different OD and ID that are made like the factory just in case someone is wanting something bigger.
