I have a 94 camaro z28 done a engine build over the past winter got the car up and running. Then it started randomly not running while your turning it over it hits but won't fire up. Let it sit a few days come back it wire fire right up. So far I have checked the icm, new coil, pretty new opti, all the wiring, the car also has a turbo 350 I have the neutral safety jumped.

It also has a strong fuel oder when your trying to start it

Is there spark when the car wont start? Is the engine heavily modified? Tuned for modifications?

Heavily modified it has not been tuned yet because I have not got it to run on a consistent basis do you think a mail order tune would be a good start

Yes, that would be a very good start.

Fastbird is right. You need a tune dude. Depending on your level of modawesomeness the car might not run at all. If you have upgraded the injector size. The PCM needs to know. Sounds like its flooding out to me.

The car has Billit crank , h beams, pistons, 12to1 CPR, heads, cc306 1.6 rockers, all the little odds and ends really wanting set the car up on fast does anyone have experience with that. I believe you guys are right I'm gonna get a mail order tune any suggestions

You'll definitely going to need a tune. Other than that, I'd check your fuel pressure and spark when the problems happens and make sure that you aren't missing either. If you're missing either, you may have bigger issues, but either way you'll need that tune.
