I just ordered these gauges and I plan on installing them on the pillar. I would like to get some ideas on the best way to install this with hooking up of the wires. I also am looking at installing a different Tach as well and need ideas. Thanks

You talking about the lighting wires or the signal wires?

if lighting just tap into the headlight switch ... for power and ground tap in to the fuse block just behind the headlight switch.

Signal. I am really old school when it comes to some stuff. Mechanical was all I remember messing with. :)

what year is the block in your car?

if its a 93 and early 94's the oil pressure port is above oil filter. if your motor is a 94 or later then the factory port is behind the intake manifold.

the later blocks still have the port near the oil filter there is just a plug in place ... when i get an oil pressure gauge i will use the port on the side and keep the stock one in the top ... so that way i have 2 places where oil psi is being read.

my autometer electrical fuel pressure gauge was very simple ... a sender unit to go in a port and a mini wire harness that plugs into the back of the gauge and the sender for the signal. i had to wire the power and ground, of course, but its very easy to do. if you have ever done a radio its kinda the same. power, ground, and signal to the speakers. in just a psi sender in this case.

Cool. I have a 97 and i am good with wiring if I know where stuff goes. Does not sound too bad.

Ok..gauges came in and I have a question. Can I splice the sending unit wire in with the factory ones behind the dash plate?

I am not sure I can get at it up top where it is located. That is why I was asking. Is there a trick to this? lol

you can extend the wires if you lack length
