I justed wanted to put this up, i dont know how many guys here are apart of njfboa or ls1tech but im in the beginning stages of converting a silver 2002 SS nose (fenders, ss hood, front bumber) to an lt1 front end to match my 97 Z (my toy thread posted) . Plan is to have two identical looking cars only difference being one has z28 badges and the other car has SS badges. Going along with the swap will be a golen moter works 427 ls7 (putting out numbers of 650hp) with an slp supercharger with about 15 pounds of boost, unsure of numbers but im figuring i should be looking in the ball park of high 700's. In addition the car will have a full Bmr suspension (front k member, brace bar, lowering springs, and full rear suspension offered) the car will also be caged, and will be running a moser 12 bolt as well with 373 gears. (6 speed). Photos will be posted in the next couple of days of what i have in parts todate. List so far includes a whole lt1 front clip, fenders, non ss spoiler for the rk sport 5' spoiler to be attached, lt1 SS hood, 18x10.5 and 18x9.5 silver c6 Z06 wheels. If anyone is selling the wings west ground effects kit like the one i have on my 97' Z please let me know.....I'll buy it from you.

update ... had found recently found out on njfboa that a member there, ls Z28 got hit and he parting the car out, found out that he has the rear and side ground effects i needed and will be picking them up tuesday. so as the list stands now im still searching for the front wings west custom front spoiler, and the rksport performance 5'' spoiler. 10774

as you guys can see this SS had some crazy vinyl stripes going on from the fenders back to the doors, dont ask me...I didnt put them there so today was the day that those stripes had to go.

Finally got around to do some work on the car. I did the rear lowering springs, I have Bilstein front and rear shocks coming on tuesday so I will lower the front Wednesday.

selling it as a set: nose, hood, fenders, lights. Its all be sold for $1000.00. I have a few more things I need to do to get the car ready for the lt1 front end swap. Once that is complete.....( air intake, fuse box) parts will be up for sale.

I figured I would post some updates on my progress with the car. I have to block sand the sheet metal interior fender to get rid of some rust, then I'll spray with some silver primer. the front wheels are done and the fenders are now silver and no longer black. all I really have to do now is wire brush the mounting brackets for the fenders and some of the other various mounting brackets that hold this front end together, paint, and reassemble.

So I'm swapping out the Ls1 nose for an Lt1 nose on my 2002 SS camaro. Can anyone assist me on where these mounting brackets are. any photos would be a huge help.

I know this mounts to the fender but how/where does it mount to the chassis itself

Well, I'm sure you've got this figured out by now. I couldn't find these pics the last time I was looking at your thread, but I was browsing through them tonight and found the couple I was looking for. As for the last 2 brackets you posted, I don't know, they don't really look familiar.. Would they be an LS specific bracket?

sat down with Mike and Matt at TTP yesterday after dropping of the 6.0 block. So the build will look something alittle like this 408 stoker kit, trickflow heads (specifics not determined) D-1 supercharger, 10:1 compression, cam specs, also not determined, Both Matt and Mike informed me "this car will make a easy 750 rwhp w/o sweating"

here are some photos of the ls1 after disconnecting the air box, its not pretty and its on the primitive side but it gets the job done for now and allows me to swap out the front end.

I got the Ls bumper cover and bumper absorber off, all the brackets, lights, and everything else that goes along with Ls nose. I was able to mount the Lt bumper absorber. All I have left is to do is sand and paint, bolt on the Lt headlight assembly, connect all lights and start putting on the Lt nose.

finally got the headlight assembly on and all the the lights connected and working. now all that is left is to sand, spray after i tape off a few things. then i can finally get the body panels back on. this swap has been extremely easy, time consuming but easy.

after a couple of hours for some needed rewiring and replacing every bulb all the lights are officially working. I did notice that in the Lt1 if the high beams where turned on the fog lights would turn off leaving the high and low beams on. As for the Ls wiring if the high beams are switched to the on position, the low beams turn off....i guess it will make for even crapper vision while driving at night. HID kit will defiantly be in store for this car.

I have fixed all the fender alignment issues but one, that being the hood and making sure the lines for the hood are straight. I have to reroute the wiring harness that runs on top of the passenger side strut tower, and the air hose that runs on top of the drivers side strut tower and the hood will be latch completely down.

I got the car back together, this hood is on its way out. I just put up a post about a ss hood I just found. If it's a genuine slp ss hood I'm most likely getting it. The fenders need to be resprayed and I have to get the newly powder coated front wheels back on. The fenders still have room to get moved up, and I still have room to lower the hood latch, which will help with correcting these lines but this hood is on its way out

I believe I found a hood for this car but got some more work on the car. All I have left to do is tighten up the bolts from the fenders to the front bumper cover and bolt in the fenders to the under brackets under the doors....just waiting on some lift time. Here the car as of today.

Car is looking good, On the hood adjustments I used this video on youtube for my friends camaro and it lined up perfect. The video is for VFN hoods but it works on all fiberglass hoods..:cheers:
