While in the midst of doing the late Sunday night Craigslist rummage, we stumbled upon something that sent a chill down our spine. What we found were pictures of a place of destruction and automotive decay could only exist in our worst nightmares. The posting (http://stlouis.craigslist.org/ptd/3163548697.html) was titled “1982-2001 Camaro & Firebird Parts” and inside we read the ad which claimed, “Over 300 82-02 F-Bodies.” Instantly we were intrigued, so we followed a link to their Facebook page…
http://cdn.speednik.com/files/2012/07/271083_138816782868001_2306121_n-640x480.jpg (http://cdn.speednik.com/files/2012/07/271083_138816782868001_2306121_n.jpg)What we found was a giant F-Body only salvage yard, called Camaro & Firebird Motorsports (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Camaro-Firebird-Motorsports/137941172955562) that is located in Searcy, Arkansas, just 42 miles north of Little Rock. We witnessed an array of terrifying photos of smashed up F-bodies and daily status updates concerning what kind of parts they’ve pulled that day and how much you can scoop them up for. They also post up photos of whole cars for sale, parts cars, and gut wrenching photos of what’s left of the F-bodies after they’ve been stripped.
Once a car makes it’s way to Camaro & Firebird Motorsports, typically it will be parted down to the frame. Wheels, tires, engines, transmission, interior, convertible tops, t-tops, light assemblies, door panels, rear ends, window motors, hoods, clutches- all of it! While it’s a great place to find that one small part you’re missing and can’t get anywhere, we couldn’t help but shed just a few tears for all of the F-bodies that will never feel the rush of the wind across their T-tops again.
May they rest in peace….or “pieces” as the case may be…

There's a salvage yard in Tulsa called B&R that specializes in late model GM stuff. They've got a ton of F-body stuff, but its the same way with the price on most things.

Yeah i noticed that some of the prices on there Facebook page were a bit steep but it's another resource for us as alot of the good parts we may need are getting harder to come buy.

Back in 06 i lived there in Searcy Arkansas I stopped by there once to look for a few things. When i talked to the owner he said there were approx. 125+ LT1 yr cars and 130+ ls yrs. That was including respective 6cyl cars. If i remember correctly he only deals with 82 and up cars.
As sad as it was to see some of the cars in poor shape if you ever get a chance to visit a place like this it is absolutely breath taking.

i dont think they get smashed intentionally, i would guess its due to retarded drivers.

Couple years ago saw a 99 anniversary car wrapped around a power pole. Teenage kid street racing in the rain none the less
Killed him and his girlfriend. Guy I raced once got killed coming off the mountain back home. Ran off the side and him and two friends were killed. Alcohol behind that one

I would say this is correct...
Consdering most people out there cant handle a Honda, nevermind anything with a V8 or any size to it. Had a lady today slam her brakes in front of me on a highway interchange because of a truck that had flashing lights more than 200 feet from the actual road.

No, but its one of those "No matter where you are, you are behind one" sort of things...
Had the same one do this : Once she realized what she did, got to the next highway and merged in and slammed the gas up to 70-75 getting on (speed limit is 65, so she was pulling away from me). Then no less than a mile later, I catch up to her (Im still doing 65, the whole way) and shes going 50 with nobody in front. I mean, what..?

There is an F-Body junkyard in Alabama I believe too. Also, there is the famous Cleveland Pick-A-Part... I have to go there at some point in my life.

There's a place similar near Philly called F-Parts aka Contemporary Corvette. They're always selling complete motors and drivetrain on ebay.
