not a good day at work for me. with a video

well before lunch was just fine. but as a few of u might know im a used car tech at a lincoln dealer. i have 2 bays to work out of, i had a 09 fusion in one bay up on the rack after doing front brakes on it, and had a 07 milan in my other bay chancing the starter out. well the starter would not hit when i turned the key so i thought is try and jump the niod to see if it had power there. well it did and it started in gear, and drove forward, i tryed to jump in the window and jam it into park or find a way to stop it but did get to it in time and it drove into my other bay and under the fusion. while driving into/under the fusion it pushed the hood of the milan all the way back into the windshield cracking it. then it pushed the rear of the fusion off the lift and it hit the ground. all of this happened with my ass hanging out of the window of the milan. my best guess is that while changing the starter the shift linkage was knocked into gear cause the starter and the linkage r both right there together. no one was hurt. and here is a video of the after math.

man that does suck but remember no one will ever make it in this career without messing something up. in a few months you and the guys will be sitting around cracking jokes and laughing about it. i work at a multi brand luxury dealer and just before i started one of the techs had an Aston martin DB9 in the air with the cruise set to 60 listening for a rear wheel bearing noise. after he was done without thinking he just put the car down like you do 20 times a day, and you guessed it that damn thing took off like a rocket right into the toolbox. then a few months ago a porter took a 300K DBS to lunch without permission. half way to Wendy's he was hit by a damn Camry. pretty much totaled the car. even my bosses joke about those these days.
