Was on the freeway in my 1994 Camaro (357ci LT1, CC503 cam) driving to the local cruise strip when I saw a 2010+ Synergy Green LT/RS driving up behind me. He got next to me and gunned it a bit and then backed off so I knew he wanted to play. Because of traffic, he had to get behind me so I gunned it. He merged over next to me and then gunned it too.

Incredibly, or as far as I could tell from my rear view mirror, he stayed even with me -- not falling back. This was from 80 all the way up to 120-130. We did this 2 or 3 times and the results were the same - he'd stay even with me.

Granted, I had air conditioning on and my electric cutout closed, but WHAT THE HELL? My car dynos at 325hp, 2010 v6s dyno anywhere from 230+ but no naturally aspirated 2010 v6s have surpassed 300 that I'm aware of. Not to mention his car is at least 300 pounds heavier than mine... Mine is only a 4 speed auto and his would be a 6 speed auto or manual but damn... impressive.

Ugh, it was a kick in the balls that's for sure... :shiner: :shiner: :shiner: My wife noticed the car was sold through her dealership, now I just need to get in touch with the guy to see what he has done.

But you dont know anything about his car.... supercharger...turbo... hell just even a healthy shot of spray......

I wouldnt worry about it 2 much... have you run your 2 REDS against each other to see how they do?

Haha I tried but the guy who was driving my 2012 downshifted and the car chirped and he got scared so he got out of it. :jest:

And that's the answer to most races outcomes. The driver. A good driver in a slow car can beat a bad driver in a fast car. Not saying your a bad driver btw lol

Btw just thinking are you sure it.was a v6? Not questioning your story or knowledge but they did make later ss cars in that color.

Had the v6 nose (no mail slot) and the badge said "RS" so it had to be a v6 unless they tried to make it a sleeper by swapping bumpers and badges, but that'd be a lot of work :jest:

And I know I'm a bad driver, being an auto when I drag race I just mash the gas... others tell me I should manually downshift it into 3rd and then mash the gas... Meh.

Not to change the subject, but do you know a young reddish-hairred kid that drives a silver '10-'12 RS/SS with a black-out Chevy badge in the front, with black rally stripes? The kid's crazy... I saw him cruising Woodward Friday night before it started raining.

I thought the RS was just an appearance package now. it didn't indicate which engine a car had.

My mom has the same car and its definitely no slouch.....I hear they ran high 13's stock. Thats definitely stockish lt1 territory

The rs package or 2ss uses a red ss badge instead of the white one. And yeah good call on the v6 part lol. I know that one I raced ran good up top and I barely pulled but down low it wasn't even close.

Yeah it is just an appearance package. When I was moreso meaning was that it wasn't an "SS" badge, just the "RS" badge. If it was the v8, SS, it would have been either the white SS (non RS) or red SS (RS package)

That's also independent of it being 1SS or 2SS. 2SS non RS is still the white "SS" badge.

That I didn't know.

So whats with the 6cyl 5th gens that are badged 1LT? I heard they are producing like 310hp or something like that. Which imo is good for a 6 but on the heavy ass 5ths it cant be doing much???

My understanding was 1lt is a base v6 but as shown before I could be mistaken

There's a turbo one running around down here same color and everything. Last I seen it at bradenton strip I believe he was running in the 12's never got a chance to ask any questions but was impressed. Was weired the first time it pulled up to the line with skinnies and slicks on it and was completely silent was waiting for a v8 to fire up. Next thing I knew damn thing was flying by making import sounds!

Model order goes 1LS, 2LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, 2SS. The "RS" rpo package can be added to 1LT and above. 1LS is the base, base model. LS and LT are both still V6s with no changes to the engine between models. LT might have leather seats, HUD, upgraded radio, sunroof, etc but engine wise it's the same between LS and LT. 1LS is a manual transmission, 2LS is an automatic transmission. I'm not sure if that then applies to 1LT being manual and 2LT being automatic, though...

My 2012 1LS (3.6L LFX engine with 6-speed manual) is rated (crank) at 323hp from the factory. I added a cold air intake and put it on the dyno during our dyno day and it put out 270rwhp.

The more I've been driving my 2012 into work in the morning, the less bad I feel about the race over the weekend. My 2012 Camaro v6 definitely pulls like a freight train at freeway speeds. It's very easy to go from 60 to 100mph

That around what lt1s put down at the wheels stock

meissen

Yeah LT1s usually put 250 down to the wheels, so the 2012 v6 is putting out about the same horsepower stock for stock.

FYI, the AC being on made ZERO difference with how fast your car was/wasn't.... it turns off automatically;)

Something doesn't sound right. My geared 94 stayed right with an SS 4 times on the way home from Woodward a couple months ago. From digs, rolls, etc. Cool guy though, rolled down his window, asked what I had done, and kinda seemed disappointed when I said gears and exhaust, lol.

I'm thinking the v6 must have been a 6 speed... Hell, I don't really know. All I know is they pull hard in the 70+ range.
