So I raced my camaro against my friends stock 08 GT. We did this on my buddies 500 acre farm he has private road that he owns. Not the best for this but hey it worked for the purposes.

Any how my car has a cc502, 3600 vig, 3.42 gears, 1.6 comp mags, magnaflow cat back, mad z28 tune. From the launch I had him even though i spun like crazy but soon as he hooked he was pulled me and i just couldn't get the car to hook I tried to feather the peddle but it just wouldn't grab the pavement. my bumper was next to his door for the whole time we went which was a little more then 1/4 mile. after we both hooked it was literally dead even. I was very disappointed to say the least.

I feel if i had headers it would have made a world of difference. but realistically I need to start modding the suspension. I have a lot of things I want to change on this now.

I agree with the Track and Tires response. But you flat need a set of headers. I honestly don't understand how you could have ended up with the set up you have and not the most fundamental power adder on the books.

I've tried several sets and the easiest to install set by FAR is the Kook Stainless I'm running now. Add those and you'll find your buddy sucking your dust from there on out. I haven't had a GT come CLOSE to the old broad in YEARS. But the first thing I installed was a set of headers. BUT! In the name of full disclosure... I did pop several head bolts in taking off the old stock mannies and THAT initiated a full re-build which included bearings, rings and a nice 3 angle head-job... Which was nice from at least several angles. :D

So, at 130 or so K she was running new rings and freshly seated valves... plus the greatly improved outflow. Which while we're on the subject, there can be no doubt that ya already have the KAI, right?

Good luck brother and let us know how ya do when you're done.
