Good luck and best wishes! I know that you're the type to give 100% and there's no shame whatsoever if you don't pass for any reason, so long as you give it your all.

I'm betting you beat the brakes off this evaluation though. I look forward to the thread tomorrow titled "I DID IT" :D

Being tight-knit is what makes this forum so amazing. There's not a better group of people out there with a common interest IMO.

You can whine to us all you want, Larry.:D We're here for you whenever you need us!

Once again, best wishes. You should try and get some rest though so you can come back and tell that test, "You hit like a bitch!"

I figure I would do a quick synopsis of how it went....

I arrived 30+ minutes early and went inside... waited till about quarter of, and then was called back. The guy told me that if it all goes smooth, we would be done in about an hour and a half.....
I sat down at a table and two people interviewed me, asking me questions about the last 540 days since the moment I got hurt, right through every proceedure, etc......
After about 30 minutes of interview, I was given a tank top and shorts (all but daisy dukes) to change into.
Once changed, I had to do some bending and other basic tests where they measured my ability to bend and move, and misc things...

Then, they stuck little light bulbs all over me, and I had to walk in front of some cameras that watch how I move... (basically the same way they do new video games where you see the commercials with the athletes wearing black gear with white lites all over them..)

Then came the first time I hurt myself at the testing... I had to jog to and from the camera with the light bulbs on me... I hobble jogged as good as I could, but upon pivoting, I felt the pop that set this off way back in the beginning.....

After all that, I was allowed to change back, then I had to do some balance and walking steps on a fancy Wii Board (basically but not really a wii board)

Then using the same "wii board" I had to I had to hold on to a water skiing handle that was anchored to a doorway, and when they told me I had to pull of push it in different ways, and the "wii board" would check the weight I was moving by the force exerted on the board......And when they had me bend over and pull that up towards me is the 2nd time I hurt myself.... I asked for a minute to swallow the pain, then completed the test.....

Thats it... then they sent me home....

They advised me to contact the workmans comp insurance company either myself or through my attorney to get the records 5-7 days from now

So, I take it that you didn't pass if they told you to look into the workmans comp? I read through it quickly and I guess I didn't notice for sure or not what the outcome was.

Best thing is you gave it your 100% best, so there will be no looking back and wondering "if only I would have tried harder". Pass or fail, you can at least move forward with life and that is good my brotha!

Thank You hun, I really appreciate that^^^. I know its supposed to be "just a job," but it wasnt to me....It didnt define me either, but i was more proud than I could ever explain to be a Police Officer. I always gave 100% to that twp no matter how much it shit on me... I destroyed shoulders, knees, run over and hit by cars and I always bounced right back no matter how much it hurt, and because one injury is taking a long time... Im on the road to being tossed in the trash.......

thank You Ben, actually I learned that there would be no ANSWER today on a pass or fail, rather they would do the test, get the results from all of the individual tests, do up their report, and forward it to the Doctor representing the insurance company... he in turn will decipher what I can and cant do....If Im capable for a limited type of duty or full duty, or no duty.. The issue is Ive been ok'd for light duty since a month after my injury, but last October the Chief sent me home telling me there were no more investigations or light duty work for me to do... AT A POLICE DEPT.... at least he can brag about having STOPPED ALL CRIME. The reality is, between my salary and insurances, I cost the twp 100+ grand a year, and its not worth it to them to have a detective that can not cover a shift at that kind of cost.....so they sent me home in october knowing that as long as they have work for me, they can never force me into retirment..... Its a dirty game, but my Attorneys explained it all to me very clearly...

Your right though, I did give 100% and I have no regrets from today......

Thank You again for all your support bro....

Yeah take a load of and relax put some ice or heat on your back (I forget which is best) and rest. Its out of our hands now but fingers crossed buddy

Best wishes from north of the border! Priority is you get healthy again and be able to function and enjoy life. Will Comp offer retraining for you? Have you thought of what you'd like to do if PO is no longer an option? There were 4 Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officers shot about 4 hours from me a few years ago (RIP). Having a job where that is not a noted risk aint all bad. I truly do hope it all works out for you.

I dont know that comp offers retraining.... I believe they figure a monitary value to stop taking care of me plus the cost of "starting over...." & based on that they make a monitary offer.

Example.... I know of an officer tgat destroyed his shoulder. surgery results restricted his arms range of motion... He was retired and he accepted a $350,000 tax free settlement from comp..... sounds like fun right???? Not to me.... Its not what i WANT. But then again Ill have to figure sumtin out.

Comp will offer retraining if your lawyer and you ask for it but if it's more than they want to pay they will try to get out of it please dont get your hopes up on any settlement money numbers they will hit you with a super low number at first it's a joke be prepared for a long drawn out back and fourth battle the fact that you are a police officer helps alot every state is different on comp laws i no people that got 20,000 and people that got over 300,000 i hardly got shit From them . I really Hope things go 100% your way on this it's literally a living hell between the pain and suffering and dealing with the crap they throw at you good luck and try not to let it get you down.

Honestly, I dont put any weight in any settlement. I simply used his example to explain the situation. I did not know about the option of retraining. As of now, Im not giving up the fight of getting back to work, and Im having a hard time with the stress of the process already, and for the past 500+ days.... process after process, and game after game designed to simply try to destroy me from the inside out... court petitions to do this, and petitions to stop that.... Its part of whats f'n me up...... Anyways, I try to do DAY by Day... and deal with it when it comes.....

THank You man, and I appreciate the insight.....
