Why is it people talk so much shit about the LTX platform I sware its all over the place I mean wow I whoop on alot of cars and there owners are like wtf is under your hood and when I tell them it's an LT1 and they look dumbfounded it's almost impossible to bench race with these people cus they always think because it's an LT1 they win but I sure can not get them to meet me at the track. To be onest I love being the under dog and giving them guys that damn look on there faces when I pull a few bus lengths on them my car Is no where near as fast as alot of you on here but It sure holds it's own and I really like this platform I feel it's under appreciated big time . Im done with my rant Hahaha.

But, its mostly because LTX guys are pretty much the underdogs... and we still usually make it happen :D

I believe both of you are right . I get guys that think they have outlandish rwhp thanks to there ass dyno Hahaha and a set of gears it's a blast to take them for a ride after words they can not stop talking good about it . O well I like any fast car cool is cool to me .

LT1's were short lived, a stop gap between Gen I and Gen III. The LTx was in and out before true development really began. Look at how long it took the LSx stuff to REALLY develop, I'm talking 11's bolt on and 10's with head/cam setups. I think it was what, like 2002-2003 when GMHTP did the article on Cartek's 10 second Head/Cam package? That's what, 4-5 years after debuting the motor? The LTx barely had the surface scratched before it was ousted for the next gen. If we'd have had the aftermarket support and development of the LSx world, we'd have large runner very high flowing heads from several manufacturers, bigger CID motors, etc. We'll always be the underdog, but that makes it all the better when you show the tail lights to a car equipped with gods motor. Yep, the devil's got his hands on ours. We may not get every win, but when we do, the other party ain't happy.

*edit* My year mark may be off there. It could have been earlier, but I don't remember exactly. I know it was after I started modding my black car in 2002. Anyway, to harken back some, let's take the late 90's when GMHTP was doing articles on blown LT1's that were running 11's and making around 600 RWHP, and that was considered wild. Look at us now. 700, 800, 900+ at the wheels, street cars, 9 second 6 Speeds (Yes Taner, I'm talking about you), a mid 8 Nitrous Car (Hi Tony), and all the rest of us doing what we're doing. We're doing what could have been done a decade earlier if the LTx was longer lived and got proper support and development.

I love the LS platform and how user-friendly they are, but I'll never give up on the LT1. My LT car will always stay an LT car and I've accepted that I'll have it until I die. For better or for worse haha.

I do plan on our next 2 vehicle purchases being LS-based, though.

Btw nobody in my area talked crap about lt1s when my ws6 was tearing up the streets. Had way too many people get beat in ls1s ask what was done to it and never believed it was only full exhaust and a mail order tune. But not to toot my own horn or anything, driver mod had alot to do with it. If your car makes 500whp and you don't know how to control it I can beat you with a basically stock lt1 by 2 cars. Got a video on my phone to prove it lol

^ Kinda like a friend of mine that had a 98 Cobra back in the day. He bought the car with full bolt-ons and to this day will not admit to getting beat in a race against my LT1 when it had nothing but a K&N filter, haha. I had another friend in my car and we laugh about it every time we get together. It was a close race and I didn't get him by much but it was approximately a car-length at well past a 1/4 mile. I was going 110 or so as I remember it.

"That was a close race. You almost got me." LOL!!! First time I heard that my jaw hit the floor. Of course that was months later as if I had forgotten who really won. I'd argue, but not really worth the headache.

Oh yeah understand exactly. The car I ran was a built lq9 car. Ran over a second faster at the track than my car and that's with it spinning. On the street though I couldn't tell you what happened. Driver error on his part. We did line up again and I got pulled 6 cars lmao but that first run dropped jaws haha

You could use Sean's avatar as a guide. Imagine that optiface with a frown or laughing, pitchfork in its hand and point the top 2 ports for horns and make him red. Kinda what I was thinking, but my imagination sucks. Something along those lines. It'd probably be good to make a new thread about it and see if anyone else has ideas.

Well if y'all want to make a thread and get some ideas I can pen it but don't know how I could get it too you. I can do some sketches and make a thread tomorrow after work if y'all want. If my laptop didn't die last year I could make it in Photoshop and send it. Got good at that kind of stuff lol
