i just saw in the new gmhtp that some guy has a 99 trans am interior in his 1994 camaro. i wanna do that, but i had some questions, like a) is it real hard, and b) how do u get the guages to work, or can you use the stockones?

Not hard at all, infact i think you will have it swapped rather quickly!
save yourself some time and get the speedo plug from the salvage yard with 8" of harness on it then adapt & repin. you will love the new look!
i will add a few pics later..

the cluster will NOT work you will need a 97 or older cluster along with the plug for the cluster..

I heard that the 98 cluster is the same. So he should be able to use a 93-98 T/A cluster and a 97-98 Z28/SS cluster.

negative,
the 97 is the only digital cluster that will work, the 98 works differently from the 97 and the 99-02.

I have helped do this exact swap in my old 96 Z28. You will need to get the connector from the Firebird or Trans Am you grab and if its below a 97 get the 96 or below Cluster. I know on the 96 OBDII you can use the 97 with a few wire mods but on the 95 or below I am not so sure the OBDI will allow the use of the HUD in the 97 Cluster.

It is true you can not use anything above the 97 Cluster without going to the 98+ ECU which they have running LTx motors... but that's another thread and its not being sold yet.

The swap is the best face lift the Camaro can get I like it more then the 97+ Camaro interior but that's me.

I have pics somewhere... but you know what to expect it too look like.

The Dash part was easy some wires went different places but there was enough wire, however the harness connectors are different so you get to cut a splice just take your time. (If you have a 97 you can use the Camaro Center Cluster and not worry about it, your best bet so your not stuck with that damn red...)

Hope this helps you, if you were closer I would be happy to help and I even happen to have a Firebird dash you could have for 5.00 if you got the damn thing out of my yard lol. (And some door panels and interior... and the list goes one)
