View Full Version : Cool Cars that have been at the Shop I work at........

and I've put some kind of work into every one of them. :D

First up, the owners car pictured here with his dads and My car. A very very beautiful 69 El Camino. Nicely built 355, 700R4, amongst your other normal stuff.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i177/Fastbird93/Shop%20Cars/IMAG0102.jpg

And speaking of his Dads car, this GORGEOUS 57 Coupe. GM 350 crate motor, nothing special, but you don't need it in a car like this. I've gotten to drive this one and it was SUCH a treat.

Now on to some cooler stuff......

First up is this 40 Chevy Truck. Original sheet metal, straight as an arrow, no rust, just needs paint. 327 with a 4-speed. Just amazing how well it's survived. Was a barn vehicle brought back to life with minimal effort.

Then we have this 55 Chevy Truck. This one is pretty mundane, with a straight six, auto, but is 90% original too. This one sits outside because the owner has three cars worth of space taken up by a 40 Plymouth, 00 Vette, and 63 Split Window 327 Vette with 39K original miles.

This Pontiac (I forget the year) was AMAZING. Straight 8 that fires and runs like a dream. Just an overall amazing car, and word is that it's fairly rare too especially given the options and condition. I WISH I'd have gotten more info on it before it left.

This AMC AMX was a beauty. Really nice car, but not a show car. Great driver material. Sounded tame, but (and I am still kicking myself for missing the vid) she got up and went when the boss was testing driving her after some fixin'.

Saving the best for last (for now). This 70 Nova is simply INCREDIBLE. Flawless body work, EVERYTHING underneath is Silver-Vein powdercoated. You could eat off of any part of this car. Granted, it's being finished up from a complete resto, but this is the ONE Nova that's actually drawn my attention. Just an amazing car. We've been doing a LOT to this one.

your living the dream very nice

I wish I could say that. Sadly its only a two day a week affair for me. I answer phones for a bank four other days as my primary job. Plus most of our work is more maintenance related though I am supposedly on deck for a came swap in a fifth Gen......

a few days a week is still kick ass even if its maintenance that cam swap should be fun.

Yep. One of the bosses friends who also has a 56 Chevy, all orange (think I've got a pic somewhere) with a 4 speed/355 combo. I was doing a plug change on the Impy.

I love that Nova. I wish that we worked on cars at my job. It's all semi trucks and it just doesn't really do it for me, haha. Our shop does do some pretty insane work, though.

This one today is a gem. Almost all original, 302, 4 speed, 41k miles. Not perfect but all original.

Btw how do you guys post the info and pics over here from Craigslist?

Fastbird

I don't know how Larry's posting directly from craigslist. No idea.

GOT to be a 67-68 with the wide grilled nose. The 69 just doesn't do it for me. Don't tease me though, I don't have a dime to put towards a new car right now, no matter how bad I want it. The ONLY thing I could do is sell my Celica but I'd have to have a beater first and foremost.

Well this was an interesting one today: A 1973 Oldsmobile Tornado, 455, FRONT wheel drive!!!!!, all original, 44K miles, in EXCELLENT shape (interior was MINT). Owner purchased it for.......wait for it........$2600. I did new shocks and exhaust manifold gaskets on it today.

After I was done with the above, it was time for a little something something on the bosses 69 El Camino. A line lock..........And it came out clean as hell I think.

I did a cut/flare on the factory line to come out of the solenoid, and fabbed the master cylinder to solenoid line from what I have/use with my kits. Worked perfect and looks great.

NO Vette yet........But in the meantime......

Not necessarily cool, but a neat little car. I believe it was a 73 MG. Oddest damn manifold design I've EVER seen though. Those crazy brits. Four cylinder, but three exhaust ports, and the intake/exhaust manifold is all one piece. Whoda thunk it?

Normal mundane car right?

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i177/Fastbird93/Shop%20Cars/IMAG0257.jpg

The original owner of the car was none other than Chip Miller, a truly HUGE name in the Corvette world. This is a genuine piece of Corvette history here. The current owner has photographs of Chip picking this car up framed with the window sticker that he's going to bring by to show me sometime too. Very very cool.
