Thinking about parting out both cars and moving on.

With work and a prego girl the thought of parting out both cars has came to mind and is almost setting in. The 94 Z28 is my first car and has always been my baby but i havent touched her in months and hasnt seen the road in almost 2 years. The formula was bought from a close friend and has been in my life for the last 4 years, it was sold to me cause he knew i would get it back on the road, but with things that have come up im not to sure.

What really has me thinking is that when the girl goes on leave from work they offered her up to 3 months off but with NO pay what so ever and we will have to go off my income alone, which my hours have been cut lately from 130hr pay checks to 100... Just at a loss on what to do cause like any car guy it's so hard to look at cars sit in the garage month after month collecting dust.

1994 Z28 (my baby)- forged 383 lt1, t-56 conversion, 24x conversion, custom t-76 turbo system.. this has been my dream build since the day i bought the car.

1996 Formula- Forged 348 LS1 swap.

The thought about parting both and buying a newer vett or GTO has come to mind but i would find my self modding both those and probably put my self back into the same position, so i would probably just buy a SUV or truck and grab a R1 to meet my need for speed thrills.

what about just parting out the formy. My formy is my baby Ihave been thinking about parting it out as well but I just honestly dont think I could ever part out my baby. looking at your sig i would part out the formy put that money away and keep the g8 and the z28. which im sure has crossed your mind just my 2 cents.

Agree, get rid of one but not both. Like your thinking (R1) as I'm about to do the same thing myself next yr if I don't get my car runninng. May go ahead and do it regardless.

You never get shit for them when you sell them or part them out. Money is just temporary, cars last forever. Start saving right now and get yourself a little nest-egg going for when your wife leaves work. Balance your budget really well, and get rid of shit you don't need like 500+ tv channels for the time being. No fast food, make sandwiches for work, drink tap water, etc, etc. It's easy to save hundreds a month when you cut back on stuff you really don't need.

^ THIS. I work out of a union hall and when I'm laid off my income goes from 1325 a week to 1100 every two weeks. We have 4 kids. You'd be surprised how little you need to squeak by when you ditch the luxuries . Speaking of that, its time for my weekly Chinese fix...

Tell the GF to apply for disability. If the paperwork is done correctly, she will be compensated during her leave of absence from work.

Still need more money? Sell that poor Formula that has been bastardized by that LS1 thats under its hood!

Sell the LTX, and you have JUST MADE CALL911's LIST!!!!! (you may have to do research to see what that entails, but let me tell you; IT'S NOTHING GOOD)

Alot of the little things have been cut to help save money which doesnt bother me, the bird would be the first to go and i was told last night the Maro will not be going any where, words from the girl!

Just kinda in a tight spot and freaking out about being a dad for the first time lol.. Hopefully both cars make it and i can enjoy them both.

And thanks Call911 for the disability idea, think we'll look into it a bit and see what we can do.

I hope you don't need to get rid of the cars but and that is a big but if you do "not wishing so" but if you part out the Z28 I could be interested in the 24x conversion. I am just throwing that out there but I rather see you keep both cars
