Center Console and HAVC Lights?

I bought my car about 2 years ago, its a 95' TA and has a ls1 year dash in it, well the lights to the shifter plate and havc do not work, my buddys ls1 center console lights dont work half the time either? Is this a common problem or anyone have some info for me thanks!

The bulbs on the HVAC panel are replaceable. I have the same problem with my center console light, but the bulb is just loose in the socket. Doesn't bother me much, but it shouldn't be hard to fix.
