I don't usually do this type of thing, but I figured it can't hurt. My Dad has a bad health condition that may require some very risky surgery to fix it. The other option may be even more riskier. The doctors are meeting tomorrow to decide the best least riskiest course of action, but no matter what they decide, its going to be risky and the odds are not in his favor.
I would appreciate any thoughts and prayers you could make for my Dad.

Buddy, I'm sorry I didn't respond to your message yesterday. We were really busy and I just left the phone sit all day. Knowing your day, you know I'm keeping him in my thoughts. Hope everything works out well.

Thank you all.
It is heart related. They did a scope today and were hoping to do a stint today, but they found the one aertery was 80% clogged, and the other was 90% so it was too much for a stint. They had to back out and close him back up. Now, they are meeting tomorrow to figure his best options, but bypass surgery given his current health would not leave him with good chances. But doing a stint isn't good either. The alternative, doing nothing, and just medicating will not do anything much at this point either. At the end of the decision, it will not be a hopefull one.
Seeing hero's die in combat, I have wept and kept on fighting. Buring fallen hero's where I was the one to present the flag to the next of kin after we put them to rest in the earth, also difficult, but able to move on. Other family members dying, painfull, but still can move on.
Seeing my Dad in that recovery room in the hospital bed... its more than I can take.
Thank you for the prayers. Please keep them coming.

Ben, hang in there buddy. My prayers go out to you and your entire family. Sad to hear of this and your father, father and son connections nowadays seem like anomally w/ so many people being raised w/ out one. Cheerish each day but don't count him out no matter the odds. I love my Pop to death so I can only imagine/believe you feel the same about yours.
Keep your head up!

Thanks again everyone. Silas, you hit the nail on the head. I am a lucky guy to have great parents. I have always had a good relationship with them, and my Dad and I have always been very close. You make an excellent point to not count him out no matter what the circumstance, and I want to express to all my friends here that have showed their support that I sincerely appreciate it more than any of you will know from the bottom of my heart.
The latest news is that he is meeting with the pulmonary doctor on Tuesday to determine if he will be healthy enough for the double bypass surgery, and if so, he will meet with the surgeons on Wednesday. Fortunately he is working with some of the very best heart doctors in the state. Unfortunately neither of my parents can afford health insurance, so its safe to say that no matter what outcome they will be in debt the rest of their lives. But the important thing here is giving my Dad the best chance at life, not the repercussions of the financial status.

You and your dad are in my thoughts. My dad had a heart attack last year and surgery. It is gut wrenching to see the man who taught you so much seem so helpless.

Ben-
Sorry to hear about your dad. Definitely right on with the parents thing...I'm also a lucky one to have both parents that have been there since day 1...41 years married and still going strong.
You're right...seeing your father in a state like that is more than any son can bear. I've been there and had those scares. Many people's biggest fear is dying...my biggest fear is being alive to watch my parents die.
However, I don't want to be too negative. As I'm sure you know, medical technology is incredible these days, and I'm sure your dad is a tough guy. He'll pull through....and I'd LOVE to have the opportunity to say I told you so.
Thoughts and prayers from the QC.

Thanks again everyone.
My Dad will be undergoing quadrouple bypass surgery in the morning. For those that have offered thoughts and prayers, I ask for them again in this time of need for my fathers big procedure tomorrow.
I spent some time with him tonight, and forced myself not to think of it as my last conversation with him. Keeping positive thoughts and as Silas said, "not counting him out".

Thank you all. Your thoughts and prayers mean more than you'll ever know.
My father did well today! I am pleased to say his surgery went well and he is in recovery. He's not completely out of the woods yet, but each moment that passes will be a little safer and a little safer. He will have to remain in the hospital for 3-7 days until he is healthy enough to come home.
