I already have a thread started where I said I bought a new truck, but I don't really have too many decent pics of it, so I'm going to post some pics in this thread that I took with a better camera
I bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 dually, with the 5.9 cummins diesel and a NV5600 6spd manual transmission. The truck came sans tailgate and with a 60 gallon reserve tank in the bed (which currently is the only functioning tank on the truck. I need to fix this issue as there are at least 35 gallons sitting in the tank under the bed, maybe more). The only thing I have done to the truck thus far is install a fuel gauge on the reserve tank and hook up my satellite radio. I also did an oil change and fuel filter the day after I bought the truck.
I would have posted better pics sooner, but I've been a little busy getting married (I'll post pics in the next day or so in the thread I started, I promise!), but I was also kind of waiting until I had thought of a name for the truck.

for the time being, the only planned mods are an aftermarket lift pump (the stock ones on these truck suck, and I do NOT feel like replacing a 1000+ dollar injection pump right now), some gauges and a fuel mileage box (I have found one that has an almost 3 to 1 ratio of good reviews to bad reviews), intake and exhaust. Minus the gauges, I should be able to buy and install the box, the intake and exhaust for 6 or 700 dollars if I do it right and should see pretty significant fuel mileage gains. Which would be great on top of the 22-23 I'm seeing out of it now, keeping my speed down to 65 on the highway and setting the cruise.
In the two weeks that I have owned the pig, I have to say that it's the most comfortable long distance ride that I have ever had. I have degenerative disc disease in my back, and normally after a fairly lengthy ride (it's 13 hours from my house to my in-laws place), I have moderate to severe back pain. Taking this truck up, I was only a little sore between my shoulder blades, but no real pain to speak of. I've had a Ford and a Chevy truck before this, and I cannot believe how much better (at least in my opinion) this truck rides and how much better the seats are comparably. I am also pleased with the mileage I am seeing, since most people report in the 18-20 range with a few running as high as 21 on average. But I also believe that those people are running 70-75, instead of the 65 I kept my truck at (which is where the truck seems to be happiest cruising down the road.) Plus the NV5600 is one of the smoothest shifting manuals I've ever driven, the shifts aren't fast like a t56, but they aren't really much slower.
In short, I was pleasently suprised at how well I am liking my last ditch no other real option pic for a truck
