ok so im going to be parking my 1995 z28 for a while to work on it. originally i was just going to slap on my headers and get it back onto the street but im thinking about going a little deeper... im thinking about a cam and 1.6 roller rockers... i dont have the pockets for heads so im looking for the best cam for my money to run with stock heads, i know that a cam usually comes with lifters but how do i go about matching them to the liftrods and rockers? or do i need to worry about matching them up since im running stock heads? any input would be great im looking to start ordering parts in the next week or two so i can get it tear it down...

Well if you wanna do a top end build you should look into Lloyd elliot or advanced inductions for a h.c.I package lots of good from both people and great results.

Idk I went from supercharged 350 to n.a 383 and I have a smaller cam then that but what I'm doing is going to require me to go bigger with everything if you want I got some 30# injectors I'm selling for 200 with only 360 miles let me know if you might be interested at all.

There are a ton of better cam choices out there, the people on this site can give you hand picking out one.
In my opinion the cc503 is a great choice for stock displacement, add some 918 springs with LT1 locks and retainers and you will be a lot happier than the hot cam.
Again just my opinion from my experience.

I would say before you jump on a cam you need to decide what you want the car to do and what attributes you want. Because people will tell you what the right cam is but for you it might not be. Lot of people will tell you for a cam that will give you top performance for your stock heads the cc503 is probably your best bet. But I have also read some guys who did a lot of street driving and auto cross liked the cc502 better not sure why but have read a few threads stating that.
everyone has there own idea of what they find streetable as well. I recommend calling some of the shops like AI and LE and talk to them about a custom grind they are only slightly more expensive.
Dont forget your going to have more into it then just the cam kit. You have to remember gaskets, tune for the hot cam and if you go with any thing over a cc502/hotcam you will want a converter for an A4 and or gears for an m6. I can tell you i have gotten away with a cc502 on stock converter but boy it can wear my leg out at lights in stop and go traffic. I cant wait to get the new tq converter in.

Roller cams do not come with lifters usually. The comp 503 is a popular choice for a stock headed car.

Personally, for a stock headed car, I love the CC502. It'll make slightly less peak HP than the CC503 or 305, but it'll have a much more broad tq curve too. Seen several cars making 345/345 to the tires with that cam. If you want all out peak HP, toss a GM847 or CC306 in there and call it a day. But you're gonna pay with some loss under the curve.
The only real kit I know of that's for these cars is the Hotcam. But really, a cam, rockers, and a spring set (springs, retainers, locks) is all you need other than gaskets if you already have the rest of the bolt on's. If you feel you need to replace your lifters, a set of LS7's for about $115 new is a great replacement. Pushrods......your call.

With my cc502 Im running the stock 95 hardened pushrods. I checked to make sure they were the right height though. I ran howard springs which work with the stock retainers and locks. Im running comp magnum SA 1.6 rockers. So the cam i think i got for a little less then 300, 100 for the rockers and 100 for the springs. the rockers in the hot cam kit are better because they are full rollers compared to my roller tips.
