I had one on one of my old cars. The previous owner had installed it after having 2 different ebay optis die on him. He installed it then drove the car about 5 miles and thought the transmission went out, and thats when I bought it. The bad transmission ended up being a bad TPS sensor and I drove it for a few hundred miles. It died on the street one day and was getting no spark. I tried diagnosing it as best I could but ended at the opti and replaced it. The problem ended up being burnt wires to the coil and the opti was still good, BUT I took it apart and it was missing a Rotor Screw. It looked 100% identical on the insides as my Chandler opti fwiw.

I didn't even have to even say anything at all, so next time I find a good deal remind me not to say anything then because I probably won't. For those who are too lazy to look an opti up, if you wait 5 seconds there's a link right on their main page.

To everyone else, its a $150 opti so I probably wouldn't expect much. If you're on a tight budget or need one as a spare it might be worth a shot. IIRC last time I really delved into it its made by Accel and resold under the Summit name. They're not the best but probably better than a reman parts house opti. I'd still take it apart and loctite the rotor screws and RTV the cover on. I havent touched an opti in years tho :shiner:.

I saw this earlier today and was going to post it but I don't know how good they are and didn't want to recommend a junk part. But $150 for an opti is cheap for a spare!

Well if its really an ACCEL, its not that bad... or at least my experience installing and running one on the 95 I had bought for my Ex.... it ran strong.... hell, it outlasted our relationship. lol

I've heard good and bad things about accel optis....i guess you can pretty much say that about them all.

Thanks Ryan. I have a buddy on a tight budget right now and he needs an opti, so this will help! Thanks again.
