So I have this 04 durango for sale on CL for $7k. Books for 10k but with gas prices like they are and winter gone no one is going to pay that. I have a guy that might is interested in trading me his 94 Camaro. Here's the details. 383 Eagle forged roatating assembly. 9:1 comp, Procharger, twin intercooled?, 40lb injectors, stock heads "worked", deltec coil packs, 62xxx on body and a hundred on the engine. Needs tuned. He is going to send me some pics of reciepts so I can see for sure what's in it. I assume its a p1sc also. And probably nothing done to the trans, rear or suspension. Im actually looking at trading the durango off for a new chevy cruze but the stealership wont give me jack on the trade. Think I might be able to get 7k for this Camaro?

I think you are more likely to get $7k for the durango. I don't think that Camaro would not sell for that. If I were going to pay that much for a modified car it would have to be complete, not "needs tuning". Also getting the trans and rearend to hold will cost a lot! IMO you would be much better off selling the durango for $!

I have to agree just sell the Durango. Plus you never know if there's other things wrong he ain't telling you.

What's a used procharger setup w/ intercooler go for these days? If the car only has 62xxx on it I wouldn't be opposed to selling the procharger, swapping in a stock lt1, and selling the car for 4k. If I could get $1500-2000 for the procharger id only be in a ff 383 for 1500. I could use that in my monte (with a turbo of course) . I appreciate your inputs, guess I just need someone to talk some sense into me. Thanks!

Just found out its a d1sc and no documentation on the bottom end. I don't like the sound of that ...

Heres the thing, your durango is definately worth $7k (okay actually $10k). That Camaro with 100k on the clock, is not worth close to that in its current condition. If it were running 100% perfect with no flaws and made with top dollar parts, I would consider it. But after being around the FI world enough, I have learned that to build an FI car correctly is a lot of work. Its also a lot more work and money than most think it will be initially, and lots get started, then when things aren't right, it gets complicated and expensive and lots just give up and want out. This Camaro sounds exactly like that (with alarms, bells and whistles going off loudly). It sounds like someones problem car they are wanting out of, and I would bet money it needs a bit more than just a tune to make right.

Even if you were to try and part the thing out to sell part by part to make up enough to get to $7,000 your durango would be worth, then you will have to invest your time in trying to sell it part by part to enough people just to "maybe" get there.

Listen to the good people here who are trying to help. Keep the durango and just wait until that buyer comes around for it.

Initially I was interested because he said he had reciepts for all the work done with part numbers. After he came back with "shop didn't write them down" I knew it was over. Thanks!
