I have an HP laptop, it's going on 3 years old now. Well, I left it open overnight with internet explorer open, then closed it the next morning without doing anything. Later that day, I opened it up and suddenly have no more wireless internet. I mean, even when I go into the control panel and try to open up HP Wireless Assistant, to find a signal, nothing happens... it won't even open anymore. I have the switch turned on and everything. Router works, and I ran every diagnostic tool I have on it. It's almost like nothing is even wrong with it. I can still connect to the internet only if I plug in the ethernet cord. Any ideas?
Thanks

Have you tried doing a "repair" or disable then re-enabling the wireless card?

Do you have a switch on the side of your laptop that will turn off your wifi adapter?

I'm not sure how to disable it or re-enable it. I've looked through almost every repair option I have on the computer itself, but nothing works.

I have a switch on the front of the laptop that cuts off the connection. But it is "on" and still doesn't work. I have turned it on and off several times with no success.

Have you tried resetting the router? Any new drivers available for your wifi card on your laptop?

The router is fine. I've reset it many times and I even tried using a different router. Whatever it is, it's with my computer and mine alone.

I just tried that but I can't even pick up a signal to create a new connection. Like I said, I can't even open up HP Wireless Assistant anymore, where you can see the list of your wi-fi signals and how strong they are. Maybe something went bad with the card in my computer? Maybe something is wrong with the computer itself, that its not letting me even open that anymore... I don't know, I'm lost.
