Ok I gotta vent a ill if you ever order anything try not to get it shipped to you
Via fed ex they will throw your item around to where it breaks through the box then try to say it was not them. It just pisses me off when you spend hundreds of dollars on a car part and you get it and you can't even install it because it's dmaged so bad you can't use it. If you have to get something shipped get anything but fedex

I like UPS. I really don't see many FedEx trucks around here anymore.

I usually ship USPS only because it's cheap and two blocks from my house. Ups is the ONLY other company I'll ship through.

If it was a new part, call up who shipped it and they will handle Fedex and get you a new part. If it was a used part from a private seller, hopefully it was insured. File a complaint with Fedex and take pictures of the damage. I'm not a fan of Fedex either, I prefer UPS.

I ordered something a week ago and fedex ended up being the shipper. The guy kept putting down that the house didn't exist on the street. I even called and gave them directions. In the end i had to go pick put the package from them. I took pictures of the house and street sign as well as a map quests directions and asked the guy at the desk what was so hard about finding the address.

Stupid people is why it was hard to find it. If I can find addresses on my phone to go pick up parts from then they should have no problem with gps.

I usually use UPS but around here FedEx isn't bad. Never had any issues with either company but Summit usually sends things to my house from UPS.

Have a buddy who worked for FedEx... he would intentionally drop boxes and kick them.

your buddy is an asshole! Personally UPS has messed up more than FedEX on stuff Ive bought or shipped. Then again 99% of the stuff I get is from UPS.

lol he worked for them for one holiday season and quit. He probably ruined a bunch of people's christmas. I found it funny at least.

I shipped stuff to Lloyd elliott via UPS. The box arrived to him in pieces, half my stuff were missing, and the heads were damaged. This was about 3-4 months ago.

Yep, all shipping companies will toss your stuff around. Your only protection is the insurance offered. Shame on you if you didn't opt for it.

Sometimes I get a kick out of reading things like this. I work for UPS as a driver and no, I don't kick your stuff, lol. I can package ANYTHING and I guarantee it will make it to the other side without any damage. Some of the boxes that I see going through the system are accidents waiting to happen. Anything heavy NEEDS to be in a very sturdy cardboard box with bubble wrap around it. If there is a sharp edge, it will find it's way to a corner and make a tear, period. When I received my AFR heads, they were in the thickest cardboard that i've ever seen. It was 2 layers thick with each end having a nice 10" x 8" piece of wood to protect the heads from poking out. Then it was stapled together with those industrial sized staples, and finally taped with a ton of tape. That's how you ship stuff. You take the time to make it perfect and you eliminate the worry. Order stuff from Summit Racing and you'll see that they know what they are doing too.

Id like to add to what joelster said there are different levels of card board boxes. If you look on the sides or bottom of any box there is a weight rating for that box it will be in a little round circular stamp. You should be matching that to whats in the box. Also try not using recycled cardboard they tend to become flimsy very quickly. Also make sure the packaging is tight in the box. Its the shifting of the contents that actually destroy the box. If it cant shift then you will be far better off. Don't forget peanuts will settle so you should shake the box a little bit after you fill it to get them to shift and settle.

Actually, I have a story for that. My Dad ordered an oil pan and starter for his 71 Nova. Someone opened the oil pan box, crammed the starter inside, and shipped it like that. Both items arrived damaged. They sent out new ones packed better the second time, but I was surprised to find Summit had shipped things like that.
