So to start out, when I was pulling my motor out I left the knock sensor connector connected to the sensor on the block and the wire broke right where it goes in the connector. While I was working on something else I left my buddy to see if he could fish the wire out of the plastic so we could fix it but he ended up mangling the sensor connector pretty badly... Sorry if I'm being confusing about this, I'm all hyped up on caffeine right now.. So any way... I have to get a whole new sensor/pigtail. Now I would go with this http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonnection/ItemDetails.aspx?ItemId=554 and re-pin it, but they have a $35 minimum charge on their site now..
So here is where my question comes.. I'm going with this http://www.ebay.com/itm/1984-1991-C4-CORVETTE-GM-KNOCK-SENSOR-CONNECTOR-PIGTAIL-BRAND-NEW-/250980520823?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3a6f9ad377 but I just wanted to see if by soldering or just connecting the pigtail to the existing wire in my harness could I have a problem with the resistance changing and messing up my knock readings?
