:D I'm currently attending Wyotech here in PA Collision/ Refinshing major with Street rod/ custom fab and chassis fab for minors. 6 weeks in I got a 93.8 % overall for the final grade in Collision I. Carried a 98.8 % through the classrom, 2nd highest in class of 59, and got a 90% in the shop. I've learned a bunch about cosmetic repair, really honed my mig skills on steel and learned how to mig aluminum, a real bastard of a material.
My goal is to start my own shop within a couple yrs of leaving here, as I will really be a jack of all trades.
Talked to dad today and he is dead set on getting into a shop with me, so much so he said I could even come back home so I can buy welders instead of a house. He also told me moms tired of the TA so when he buys her another more soccer mom ride, most likely a Trailblazer SS, the TA will be ours:drool:.
Right now I have a bagged s10 to finish when I get home, Dad's race s10 will be getting redone with a 25.5 moly chassis and new paint, My Z that I plan on an all out race effort with an LT1, and the TA to be a badass LS based street car. The best part of all is they will all be rolling billboards for the shop.
I'll be starting Collision II monday and I plan on killing the grades the rest of my time here, so I can get in with BMW and start the shop as an afterhours deal. Planning on making all of this a reality by the time I hit 22 (19 now).
This is truly BADASS and the best break I've ever fallen into:metal:. I'm sure dad has his foot in his mouth right now since he told me that Wyotech was my way to get out of going to "real" college back in '06 when I graduated highschool:laugh:. In a way though, that 2 yrs before I came here was good, because I had some shit jobs, and that showed me what I don't want for the rest of my life.

Thanks. My buddy came here right out of highschool and enjoyed it, went and painted private jets in NM and got layed off. I'd have to say he was the biggest convincing factor in my parents helping me on the loans. He just got a job offer over near Philly for about 70k a yr so when he moves up I'll be in Philly almost every weekend.
Theres no If to it, when I want something it gets done ;). And the little people are the only way to keep a succesful business.
Will be based out of FL dad will do motor work and whatever I tell him to do, And I will be doing all the fab, welding, chassis, body, paint work. Might look into building my own suspension parts for f-bodies and s10's.

Sounds like things are definitely going your way. Best part is that you seem to have a plan, and that's the best thing you can do for yourself if you want to get to that final goal.

I'm originally from Port Charlotte, and yes I know Phil and the 96 is a beast. So either there, or I will try to convince dad into moving to the Tampa area. Only for the fact that theres more going on and more money to be had.
TA is an LS1 with a few goodies, apparently mom wants to look like a soccer mom now:laugh:.

Possibly, I think there was one night up at discount dad had the yellow truck out, TA Dave had the SOM '77 TA out, Titter has his Z out and you and Phil came out for a little bit. I think your camaro was still silver then.

I considered going to the one at long beach, but the distance and cost of living just didnt seem feasable.
