I let Shownomercyz28 chime in with specifics, but basically he bought one of my used PT88 hotparts that i reworked for him, and will be sending him a complete kit. He will be running a 383ci (single plain intake, he can give details).
The kit consists of the following:
Precision T76GTS
1 5/8" headers (reworked BBK's)
2.5" crossover
3" up pipe
3" downpipe
JGS 50mm wastegate
JGS60mm BOV
31x12x4" A2A IC
3" cold side piping
RPS couplers and T-bolt clamps
oil lines

Who went under? I almost became a casualty of the OFI debacle, he had $1800 of my dollars and disappeared. I tracked him down, called him at his new job, told him I was filing suit and he better get his documentation ready because I was going to drive right through his OFI Corporate veil, and I had my money back in 2 days.
And big Congrats to Jon. AFAIK he's still the ONLY mass producing LT1 turbo kit guy.

Went with a LE 224/224 cam, he did excellent in speccing one for that guy with the F1a on his TA, so I trust his suggestion.
Sent the email a few weeks ago, not that concerned really, the bumper support will hold the IC fine and make it a little easier to remove.
You have any pics of your 80e swap?
Bersaglieri
01-05-2013, 11:26 AM
Single pattern, people knock em, but I've seen the ones LE designs work very well.
No not really, when I did the swap my back was against the wall so I did everything as fast as I could and didn't stop till it was done. You may have to clearance the tunnel for the electrical plug [a crossbrace if I recall] but everything else went relatively smooth. I made my own transmission crossmember from a factory M6 one, because the mounting pad is much father to the rear, but eventually got a BMR tubular one. Bending true duals was tough only because of my BMR Trak Pak. I used a Lokar dipstick and Precision Industries converter [two of them, got a restall for the new motor]. I have a Derale deep pan in the garage for it, but I had to go back to a factory pan because it was causing problems loading it on my gooseneck.

A buddy of mine has a vid of my car at the track but you can't hear anything besides my 2step and then the loud GTO next to me with open cutouts. That's all I got. It's not that loud for what it is IMO. If I was on stock hood, I would have it out the hood about a foot or so with a tractor style flapper for sure.

Its a not so great fitting SS aftermarket hood that is kinda assumed the role of placeholder for now.

I was thinking when I tried to sell you my scavenge pump, "What would slowdown oil from the turbo drain line? " And the only thing I could think of was crankcase pressure. I'm for sure gonna use my pump now and good venting.

The scavenge pump will pull oil from the turbo, so it shouldn't slow the flow down at all.
Pumping oil into the pan shouldn't really add to crankcase pressure, but if you have high crankcase pressure and no scavenge pump, you may have a tough time pushing oil into the pan.

I hear vacuum pumps help with oil drainage from turbos.

Yea thats a given, less crankcase pressure and you have less fighting the oil drain.
But, at this point, I can't afford or really want to invest in a one off vac pump system. At some point later on I may, but just wanna get this thing running, and driving to enjoy it.

09-15-2013, 08:39 AM
Series: Trans out -> First cooler -> Second cooler -> Trans in
Parallel: Trans out -> split to feed both coolers ->both coolers merge to trans in
Less pressure build up in parallel versus series. Also theoretically doesn't heat up fluid after it has been cooled off if one cooler is working better than the other.
And yes, T brake builds heat very fast

So what are you.doing? Running a line out, and "y'ing" it and running it to both coolers then y them back together?
I just ran mine in series, that's how my old set up was and didn't have any issues, I did go from.a tube/fin cheapy to a stacked plate which should help.

Yea, spent the ~50 bucks for 6an Y fittings so it will be split out of the trans to feed each cooler.

Hmm just wondering where did you read that running trans fluid in series will heat up in the 2nd cooler. I can't really grasp that one. Pushing a thin fluid like trans fluid through a 3/8 line I doubt your going to see any build up of heat in series. Maybe a a bit of pressure. Then again I'm always learning, you have a link?

My thought is that in moving speeds, the front cooler will have fluid cooler than the fan cooler, so if I pump it through the front cooler then to the fan cooler, it will get heated before going into trans. Reverse is sitting in trafffic, the fan cooler will be more effective and rather than sending the cool fluid to the front cooler to heat up, it just goes to trans.
Thats my jumbled thoughts on it. In other news, do not forget that your trans cooler is a male thread out, and actually order the right fittings

Ya I don't know. I guess if your trans stays cool and your stuff don't blow up your good lol. What cooler did you order? I ordered the bm stacked plate ones and they're 1/2 npt female threads.
I wish I had a turbo set up so I could stuff the coolers under the car. I have to chrs 1313 and this is the only place I could stuff mine

Only cost him a grand for the race and a couple grand to.fix the trans, what a retard :D
