Well I cant sell my stock wheels and tires so Im thinking of just putting a set of drag tires on them. I need suggestions on what to run. Ive had some guys say a bias ply would be better than a radial. I also need to know what size I need to run. I still have the stock 3.42 gears in the rear and they are gonna stay until I can afford a 12 bolt or S60.
As far as suspension Im about to order some relocation brackets and lower control arms. Im going to remove the front sway bar and Im working on mild weight reduction.
Right now with street tires Im not getting any traction in second gear at the track and Im only cutting a 2.3 60'. Id love to cut a 1.8 60'.

I have had the same issue with my stock wheels and tires. I have since gotten some hankook tires on 18x9.5 wheels. The traction
has improved but I haven't tested them at the track yet.
do you run your car on the street at all? A drag radial might be a better option.
From all the research I have done most will tell you once you get quick 60' times is only a matter of time before the poor 10 bolt blows.

These wheels will be for track only. I have a set of TTMs for street duty with some cheap Sumitomos.

The only thing I can say is stock wheels are going to really limit your choices. The MT 26X10.50-16LT ET street is a pretty darn good tire and it will fit the stock wheels no problem. You might even be able to get away with running the 11.5" wide but that is pushing it on an 8" wide wheel.
IMHO the stock wheels are pretty heavy. If I was to get a dedicated set of drag racing wheels and tiresI would save up for some 15X10 welds to run a drag radial and some skinnies for the front.

Yea, after I started looking into it, I found that out. I think Im going to look for a cheap set of bigs and littles.

I have Falkin RT 615's. Not cheap but when they are warm...they hook.

well, I finally sold the stock wheels yesterday. Im probably going to get a set of Nittos on my TTMs and see how I can grip with those. If I cant get below a 2.0 60' Im going to get some 15" wheels and MT ETs.
