so i just got done putting the cover on my car after taking it to the car wash for a full wash and then stopped at the gas station and added the stabil and then filled the tank with gas. after i got the car covered in the garage i went and pulled the collision coverage off of it.

who here stores their car for the winter?

if i lived further south i probably wouldn't either.. but they use way too much salt up here in the winter and my car has never seen a northern winter so the underbody is clean and i'm afraid it would start rusting bad if i was exposed to the snow/salt

do they use salt in ok?

Unfortunately, this is going to be the first year my car has been driven in a winter. The guy I bought it from only had it for a few months and didnt need it anymore since he had a 93 Trans Am with bolt-ons and a LT4 cam, and sold it to me. The lady that owned it before him took great care of it and didnt drive it in the winter, and used it mostly for driving to work and back (mostly highway, but it guess she had quite a distance to and from work though).

If I had the choice, I wouldnt be driving it, but I have to since I dont have any other car.

covered in the back yard. I can barely drive the car safely in rain let alone inches of snow haha :D

Mine will sit in a nice warm garage and will never see any snow or rain but if its a nice day and the streets are dry it might come out during the winter

neither. my camaro used to be my only car and it was out no matter what the weather. I mainly drive my probe now, but I will drive the camaro once a week even in the winter. Cars that are driven seem to last longer than cars that just sit in the garage forever.

while that may be true to an extent... cars driven in salt do not last as long as those not driven in salt.

yes because I work on it over winter, but I could really give two craps less about the salt and snow I actually have a picture when we first got our TA and it was sitting outside in 2 feet of snow... we need new paint anyways

The car hasn't seen snow at all since i've owned it and it never will. Folks are talking snow this weekend so i'll be covering it in the next couple days.

Mine will be garaged over the winter because it will have new paint on it. Other than that, it sits outside and Im not really affected by that. I can always wash some bird shit off of it :(

I dont get snow in Houston, but mine stays garage kept all year long. It rarely sits out side and in the last four years has seen rain maybe twice?

Mine will sit outside on the street as I don't have a garage or driveway. The only place I will really need to go is the gym a few times a week over winter break.

Yes, I put it in my shop, but the car cover on and just start it from time to time.

Also some Arm & hammer in the interior is a great idea!

i think the only reason i'm still here is the free rent. i'm thinking about moving south again but i dont know what i'm going to do for money.. i'm pretty sure i'm done with corporate america (been unemployed for almost 5 months and don't really feel like going back)

put mine halloween weekend, then mon. i was like dammit. 70 degrees out grrr. lol.

but it will be there till i get some time to work on it, ill be gathering parts for the summer. then ill install them before it see's all the road i will be traveling.

also cars that are stored 4 months or whatever a year, have less miles and lot less rust. at least places that have salt and bad weather that is.

Friday afternoon I'm going to be going on a long drive to use up the old-ish gas in my car now, thoroughly cleaning the car, and filling up/adding fuel stabilizer. Then my car will probably sit in the garage until march. :(
