So i had my recently purchased 97 ss up on jack stands fixing a few small issues i had when i bought the car. Found a ground loose that bolts onto the extra nut on the ignition module that runs to the left side fender well and has a red and black wire also on this ground. It fixed my p0336 code which was great. Next thing that happened is i started the car and was going to readjust the headlights (that were way too high). About 10 seconds after starting the car and letting it warm up i released the parking brake and the low beams came on and about ten seconds later both of them turned off. Hi beams still work and i have 12 volts to the low beam plugs but no lights. Is this common for these cars to blow both bulbs at the same time?

Not common at all, but if you've got good voltage at the plugs.....as Sherlock would say "if you've eleminated all the options, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, is the truth." Or something like that.

I have found a few threads about it happening but have never had this happen to both lights at the same time. Going to buy some new ones tonight and see how she does

Just because you have 12v doesn't prove the circuit is good. Put a load on the circuit to do that. Then check for resistance from there is the load doesn't work.
