Just put the nose back on today. Took some "massaging" though. Lookie what I did........

But that's so it can function as seen here:

I left two long flaps that you can see are tucked under. This way when I eventually trash can the entire impact bar I can tilt the ic up some to hopefully make a high pressure area under there for better airflow (kind of like the Vette's have). The IC isn't dirty, it was dark and there was some water on it. The nose.....yeah, she needs paint. lol It sticks a tad bit lower than the nose would if stock, but not bad. I know this is a chitty pic but I'll try to get a better one later.

So the car is a car again. The only things I have left to put in are the visors and the under dash panels. I am going to try to get the headliner professionally redone here shortly (is going to be about $375ish, $180 for a new plastic board and around $150-200 for a professional job in suede). Everything appears to be copacetic other than it's FILTHY and I really need to clean up the paint with a buffer.
And I will be DRIVING it tomorrow!!!!!!

CONGRATS!
Glad to see you all over it brotha!
PS, my intercooler also sits under the car.... we actually mounted a scoup to it, to direct air across the surface more directly...

Popo -- I've thought about doing a scoop, but she's so damn low anyway (well, not as low as my former Vette) that a scoop would get TRASHED. That should be a high pressure area down there as is if you apply the Bernoulli principle to the car as it moves forward, and the air damn is still in place (thought bastardized bolted in, had to use self tapping screws cause the IC crunch closed my clearance to the radiator crossmember, thus no space for bolts in the stock location) forcing air up and through, and I'm running a small puller fan on the top side of the IC also.
Jon -- You're in luck...I found my HD camcorder charger, so vids WILL be happening.
And for those wondering, she's NOT popeyed. I had the light up to tighten the inner upper bracket to mount the nose.

We'll see. I'm about to go hook up the battery........will post from work later about how she drove. It'll be unnerving for sure considering I won't have the laptop hooked up and will be relying solely on my gauges for info.

And to work she drove this morning. Cold start was a beeyotch......gotta work on that tuning. It's in the fueling cause as it warms up the cars idle comes up and she becomes more responsive. There's a couple of little down low RPM issues where she cuts out, but nothing fierce. Runs a little hot, in the AM the temp gauge was showing around 210* and on the way home she got up to 220ish (the gauge is fairly accurate as I converted to a 3 wire sensor and am running the temp sensor off the water pump ONLY). So I think maybe a good radiator and some better fans may be in the future. Radiator first, as I'd like to get a clean one without any extra fittings on it (like mine with the trans cooler and oil cooler fittings).
Driving impressions........if I can get it to hook, it'll be DAMN quick. Even without traction she picks up speed like a cammed car at the very least. For the first time ever got on it in 1st 2nd and 3rd.........oh my oh my oh my. Boosted goodness. Blew off an intercooler pipe in 3rd gear on the highway.....talk about falling on your face, lmao.
Just gotta work on the temp issues, clean up some rats nest wiring, put a couple of interior panels in, and give the paint a really good once over. I've got some shocks to put in (thanks everyone, thanks so much) and I think I've got some LCA's to go in also laying around here somewhere.

Nice Sean. Still at the 770rwhp setup, or is it turned down?

Detuning is for P*ssies. :D Still set for lots of boost and as soon as I can find a good local tuner/dyno, I'm going for more.

You ever get that crossover remade? It was kind of fugly...

Looks great man. I dig the fact that it looks pretty much stock. You would neveer expect it to be pushing over 750rwhp!!

Oh hell yeah that got redone. That patch job was a temp fix just to get it in the car and get it fired up. The shop that fabbed the intermediate pipe between your down pipe and the SLP LM1 put a nice mandrel bend in that crossover pipe. The ONLY one I'm concerned may be a choke point at this time is the first section of the up pipe where I got a tad bit aggressive with the ball peen hammer.

That's the look I was going for, except for once you hear it. lol
Well, all interior panels are back in, the half headliner is snugged up (it's a black felt hack job on the stock fiberboard until I can afford a new plastic board and a quality suede job), and I don't think anything is missing.
I've GOT to get to work on the cold start though. Even at nearly 60* out, it takes 3-5 tries of start-stall to get it to even respond to throttle inputs enough to stay running. Coughs up a but belch of smoke in the process. The fueling is way freaking off for cold start.

I can't think of a better way to put a smile on your face than for you to get in your "Fastbird" and get to enjoy it. This in turn makes me happy :D

Sean, have you tried that file I sent ya? My cold start is dead on in 35* temps as that's what we worked on for weeks. It should be close for I'd think.

Not yet Silas, I'm hoping to get to do some tuning tomorrow but I've also got a Celica that's absolutely not running needing worked on.
I did a GOOD thing today. It was quiet, so I washed the purple car, then on a whim.......got out the PC, a couple of orange pads, and the Menzerna IP. Just did a meduim quick buff job on the whole car, but she looks SOOOOO much better and the paint is buttery smooth save for the surface nicks and chips. Looks really good now. Tomorrow I plan to do the wheels and tires, polish the SLP LM tips, and clean the interior in addition to other things. I'm VERY happy I decided to buff thepaint today. As Ben said, THAT did make me happy.

Man, I need to clay bar, wax and polish my turd but until it runs she'll stay the way she is. LOL Tried messing w/ it today but the XIM isn't acting right. Got pwr but no status LED and that's the LED that lets you know it's ok to fire the car. NO LED and you can ruin the coils AND XIM. Waiting to hear back from Brian Macy and try and figure out what the deal is.
