Seeing if I stir up any interest on my car. I have no time to enjoy it anymore and it just kills me to see it sit. Money would go towards furthering my education. If all goes as planned, Med school is around the corner and it will NOT be cheap :( The car is a true street/strip car. Has a decent headunit with cd player/mp3 player and Sony speakers front and back. Chassis has around 156k miles but everything has been replaced on it. I began a weight reduction binge with the car but luckily stopped short. Only things removed was the a/c, front sway bar, front bumper support, sound deadening and rear seats. I can install a bumper support if the buyer prefers. Only thing is the car is somewhat loud inside because of the lack of sound deadening and rear seats. The car was street tuned (currently has a nitrous tune/tune-up but will include another tune as well). Keep in mind that I am not desperate to sell the car and not a PENNY was spared on it. If it does not sell for the asking price I will just keep it.

$4,000

Here is what's done to the car:

Engine (short block was freshened up about four years ago and has under 20k miles). The top-end was bought new and installed two years ago due to a blown head gasket and the stock head being warped as a result):

-Rebuilt LT1 (bored .030 over). Everything was checked and is in spec, new bearings, rod bolts, rings, freeze plugs, etc. were installed. Just a basic rebuild but no corners were cut.
-DART PRO 1 cylinder heads (Manley 2.02/1.60 race flow valves)
-Hotcam
-matched valve springs
-10* locks
-Scorpion 1.6 NSA rockers with guideplates
-Hardened pushrods
-ARP 12pt head bolts
-Meziere electric water pump
-GM .029 headgaskets
-Canton Fabricated valve covers
-LS1 LID/intake conversion
-Moroso breather tank (8AN fitting)

Transmission (TH350 swap done right - speedometer works):

-Rebuilt TH350 (FVB) with shift kit
-B&M Pro ratchet shifter
-UMI transmission crossmember
-Trans-Spec 10" 3700 stall Nitrous converter (spragless with dual anti-ballooning plates) custom built for this LT1/TH350 swap
-Custom driveshaft
-B&M 28,000 GVW cooler
-Earl's A/N fittings and high pressure/temp push-loc hose
-Trans pan is currently leaking from the drain plug

Suspension/Rear/Brakes:

-UMI subframe connectors
-UMI adjustable Lower control arms
-UMI panhard bar
-UMI LCA relocation brackets
-Comp Engineering rear adjustable drag shocks
-Jegster adjustable torque arm
-TA Girdle
-ARP carrier bearing and wheel stud kit
-4.10 gears
-Torsen/Zexel posi
-LS1 rear brake swap
-Brand new brakes front and rear (new rotors, pads, lines and calipers)

Nitrous:

-Nitrous Outlet Plate kit
-Nitrous Outlet 45* high flow valve
-NOS pressure gauge
-NANO NITROUS 3000psi push system
-NOS purge
-WOT switch
-NX window switch
-Custom blowdown tube with braided line and bulkhead connector through the floor
-Custom hard-lines from solenoids to plate

Ignition/Fuel:

-MSD cap and rotor
-MSD 8.5mm wires
-NGK BR7EF non-projected tip plugs gapped @ .036
-MSD digital-6
-2 CPU fans installed in glove box (where ignition box and window switch are located). One fan pulls and the other pushes. Keeps everything pretty cool in there.
-Brand new oem coil
-FIC custom 36lb injectors (Bosch III design)
-255lph fuel pump
-Racetronix hotwire kit
-Converted to 94+ OBD1 pcm and maf for tuning simplicity

Exhaust:

-Jethot ceramic coated longtube headers
-custom built 3" x-pipe (built by Ray at Prospect Mufflers)
-Moroso Spiral Flow mufflers with turndowns (right before the axle)
-Bling bling ARP stainless steel 12pt header bolts

Wheels/Paint:

-Car was repainted about 4 years ago
-VFN Sunoco 3" hood
-Salad shooters painted black with bald tires out back and decent tires up front
-Car also comes with a pair of WELD Draglites (15x10 with 28x10.5 MT ET Drags (stiff sidewall))
-RS rear valence and wing
-Tinted tail light covers

Cons:

-Paint has some imperfections (a small chip on the hood, 2 cracks on the front bumper cover and a few other random things - overall looks nice though)
-Passenger side window motor needs replacement
-Car has no dash pad, but I will GLADLY purchase a brand new unit and install it if there is a serious buyer.
-Tint on the windows is showing it's age.

I am located in South Florida and would really like to see the car go to an enthusiast that will drive and enjoy it. It currently just sits in storage and does not get driven. In the last two years it has seen the track once, the dyno once and under 2,000 miles total. I start her up and take her up and down the block once a month or so, but it should be enjoyed more than that. I just don't have the time anymore. Sorry for the long post, I am just trying to be as descriptive and accurate as possible for anyone that is interested.

Car had an exhaust leak in the short clip, which is what I was discussing with my friend and why I was revving it. That leak is long gone now though (excuse my friend making camshaft noises lol):

New pics! Just took these today. Quickly washed it, did a compound and wax job (compound by hand and wax aided by random orbital). You can see in the pictures the cracked front clip I was talking about and the chip on the hood. This car with a 3 step detail using a dual action WOULD LOOK AMAZING (polish/compound, glaze and wax). I will eventually get around to doing it.

$6,500 takes her home (pick-up basis of course, I am not shipping or delivering). New GM/oem dash pad will be bought and installed upon sale. Car could net WAY more being parted out, but I do not have the time for it and it would be a shame. She's too purty :D

Edit: Dual fogger setup has been replaced with a Nitrous Outlet plate. Will post pictures one of these days

Bump for a great looking (and extremely street-able) weekend warrior. Even with the TH350 I take it on the highway at times cruising at 3,000ish RPM's. Tranny temps stay pretty cool and so do engine temps. The car is stout and a definite head-turner.

You and I both man. I don't HAVE to sell it, but it would definitely help if I did ya know? School is not getting cheaper and every little bit helps. If t doesn't go for what I am asking (which is more than reasonable IMO) it will stay.

Heh, selling it will not necessarily put me through school. When it is all said and done, I am looking at around 200k give or take. My reasoning mainly is because I cannot enjoy it anymore and it just sits and looks pretty. Would much rather see it put to use and enjoyed (as much as it kills me). The extra cash would not hurt either. I am not hurting to where I HAVE to sell it, so the price is firm. I never saw myself considering selling it either :(

With that said, I am still going to be doing things to it and upgrading here and there. This is my only hobby and the rare chance I do get time off from school I enjoy spending it with my red sled. I appreciate the good luck though :)

I would keep it, even if it sits most of the time it really helps to have an outlet when school stresses you out. I know that one of my motivators to really do well in school is the plans for my car. GLWS

The car would suite most people's needs. It has both the looks and relatively quick for being such a mild/cookie cutter build (so to speak).

What were the track/dyno times?

1badz
08-26-2012, 07:01 PM
None on current setup. Old setup was was a dual fogger (nozzles sloppily placed on rubber bellow - not that great distribution the way I had them) with a pig rich 150 shot pulling 12 degrees of timing. On a Mustang Dyno it put down 405-ish whp and converter flashed at 678 ft/lb of torque. This is through a 10" converter, TH350, 3.23's and 28" tires out back - also had a window switch issue which cut power at around 5,400 RPM's (this was addressed). Same setup except smaller shot (100), it went 7.5 at 100mph in the 1/8th with traction issues (lowest 60' was a 1.9').

New setup consists of Nitrous Outlet plate kit (150 jets) and 4.10 gears out back. No reason car can't be a 10 second contender with a good launch and maybe a better tune-up (i.e.: less timing, maybe some race fuel, etc.).

All-around fun little car with excellent street manners. Up until the 4.10s, I used to take this thing on the freeway to school 4 days a week with no problem. The high RPM's due to the TH350 was annoying though :)

Heh, thank you! Funny thing is (in South Florida anyway) people will still nit-pick and probably still low-ball at that price. Not sure how the market is elsewhere in the US, but f-body market is in the dumpster in FL

PM returned. Thank you for the heads up Sean! Would be neat to see the car go to an enthusiast.

Just have him review the info/add thoroughly. The car comes with black salad shooters and just the rear 15x10 draglites/slicks. No ZO6 wheels. Also, small things that I was hoping to have addressed by the time of sale (such as trans pan drain plug leaking, pass. side window motor, etc.) have not been addressed. So it needs little things here and there, but overall the car is ready to enjoy.
