i had my car dynoed back in july and was kinda shocked. it made 310hp and i dont remember the torque off the top of my head. but as you can see from my sig, shouldnt the Hp be more around the 400 range?

Is it tuned? I'm not sure about the intake but did Llyod know you were running an LT4 and not an LT1 intake? The ports are a little different. Did you guys put a wide-band on it at the dyno?

any track times? from what i understand, thats the true measure of what kind of power you are making.

You should have a LOT more than that. How does the car feel?

all the engine work was done by the previous owner, he put a couple vids on youtube making 380Hp on the first pull(search junker1244). at the time the car felt good, a little smoke at WOT but not bad, changed the plugs after and they needed to be. yes we put a wideband on it at the dyno and it was running a little rich. as far as a tune im not sure what the guy i bought it did but i havent done anything yet, decided to wait till after i rebuild this winter. lately the car is started to go down hill, misfireing, hesitation off idle to about 2200rpm. blue smoke at start up,idle and WOT.

You say "a little rich", exactly how much is that? You want it around 12.8-1 or 13.0-1. If it was down around 12.0-12.4 to 1 then there's some of your power right there. The blue oil on startup is usually worn valve guides. After you shut your motor off, the tiny traces of oil seep down the valve and lay of the backside. They get sucked into the chamber on the first few cranks and viola......-blue smoke. If it's blue smoke all the time, it's usually worn rings, which results in loss of compression, loss of power. To me it doesn't sound like the motor was very well maintained. No reason for it to wear out so quick, unless the previous guy was spraying the hell out of it.

rich as is mid to high 11s. as far as i know the previous owner didnt do nothing to the bottom end, hence the reason for me to rebuild the bottom end. planning on 125 shot of nos so any suggestions on parts to use would be very helpfull.

Well, mid to high 11's on the afr is pig-rich, not just a little rich. There was certainly some power lost right there. But....blue smoke at all times indicates a very tired mill, time for a fresh rebuild. I'd guesstimate that the tune hurt you at least 20-25hp, and the weak compression another 30-35hp, depending.

Or.... It was just never built correctly from the beginning....

But thats tough, since we dont know who built it.
