Well, as many of you know, Ive been battling some gremlins with the car....
It was holding an SES light for the EVAP solenoid..... but we fixed that by plugging one in...
It had a hesitation problem (right off of idle) since our drive back from Ocean City in May.....and sometimes seemed to lose power for a millisecond while driving... so we replaced:
-O2 sensors
-plugs
-removed the inline fuel pump and 255 from the tank and added the 340....
-replaced stock fpr with boost referenced hypertech fpr
-and a MOE mail order tune in a brand new computer, previously flashed with the proper VIN.
so I drove it a bit... and although still fat, those problems had subsided.... took it to the dyno yesterday after putting a smaller pulley on the procharger....and we could not tune it past 4500 ish rpm..... seems that once the car hit 6 lbs of boost, it would drop to 0..... so now to find out, where Im LOSING MY BOOST....... something is opening up at 6 lbs of boost and dumping out my pressure....... either way, I was still gonna drive it to KY.... but on the drive home..... it started ALL of the previous problems from before.... only now, It feels like it "chugs" when I accelerate.... like the JETTSON's space car..... (if that makes sense).
Soooooooooooo ANYWAYS....... Ang and I will still be at the shootout.... just look for us in her Genesis......

Did you check you wastegate and diverter. It seems odd that it drops boost at a specific psi. And the chugging is probable happening when your getting to 6psi? Almost like the wastegate adjustment came loose or the spring is fucked up

This is a sad day.

Im thinking the same thing... however right now, its chugging right from idle. Even the idle is not right....

you not alone larry turns out my freakin miss is a cracked head found it installing the dynaspark. pulling the 210's off the 396 slapping them on and praying the jetthot lt headers are large enough to not cause reversion in the exhaust ports. or else im fucked just dont have the funds or times to redo the exhaust

DAMN!!! what part was cracked? I mean, what was affected?

Do you have the capability to do some datalogging and send it to Moe? He may be able to help track down what is going on since he is familiar with your car.
Ppast that, it would make sence bleeding off boost from the wastegate, but at idle maybe not. I would double chech all hoses and lines to look for additional leaks. This might be something fairly simple that is just being overlooked.

Right now, the boost is the least of my worries.... the prob now is I have a dead hole...one plug is shitting the bed, the other 7 look great!

Perhaps the two are related. Do you have any datalog of the car running?

No...Ive been looking into getting some software to datalog (not do my own tuning), but had not gotten that far yet....
When you say you think they are related, do you have any ideas?

Just get tts datamaster, it's free for the first 20 uses or something like that, you just need to buy the cable for the laptop
edit: nm i guess datamaster on has files for 93-95

Without the datalog it will be hard to pinpoint, but there is obviously something going on with one cylinder and boost, it might not turn out good, but the best thing you can do is log it before we jump to conclusions.

I know I know.... my mind always goes to the worst..... However the car is to the point where there wont even be enough rpm to datalog... Its bad.....
I like to think worst case scenario, so my disapointment level is unlikely to be met..... however the thought of having hurt the piston.... or the rings is driving me insane... although Im thinking if that was the case, it prob wouldve launched the dipstick.......right?

Did you do a compression test on the dead cylinder? Pop one on there and see if the piston/rings are hurt. I would also look into that dynaspark you have on there.

Dynaspark seems to be operating fine..... the car just sounds hurt, BLUEBOTTLEZ will be doing rocker/valve adjustments and compression test while Im gone at the shootout......

This. At least then you will know everything mechanical releated is doing what it should...
