Yes...I know it's not an LT1, but I'm former LT1 and I can't find a truck sight that doesn't blow lol. So I'm going to post my build here. Any suggestions or comments are very welcome.

Phantom grill and not a stepside.

Im considering 3 options for a motor:
1. 5.3 ls swap
2. Coil per cylinder lt1
3. Carbed sbc

Really leaning towards LS motor simply because it'll be cheapest and probably the most powerful out of all of the options. It would be easy and cheap to go carb, but it would kill me in gas over the long run, plus I don't know shit about tuning a carb, or adjusting timing in a distributor.

Ill race your ls1 motor while its out!
Seriously though, its not hard to learn how to use a timing gun and turn a screw in a carb.
This is what you do. Take your dizzy out. Take all your plug wires off.
Then go turn the key. You will learn how to time a motor quick if you want to get to work the next day =)

what engine is in it now? If you are looking for a DD then the 4.8/5.3 are hard to beat for mpg and power.
