I got rolled up last night......

I rode up to White Castle to grab something to eat last night in my 98z. It was late probably around 1am and there werent alot of people on the road. As Im cruising down 31 I noticed a set of firebird or t/a tail lights a little ways in front of me. We finally catch a red light and as were slowing down I notice its a black LT1 t/a ws6 with 2 kids in it. We didnt talk or even look at each other but I knew what was about to happen....middle of the night, nobody around, two v8 f-bodys at a light, yea its on. I hadnt street raced my LS1 from a dig since I owned it so honesty might have been why he jumped me by 2 cars before I stopped spinning, I stayed in it till about 100 but could only reel him in to his bumper before I shut it down. My car has a stall, gears, bolt ons, and a tune. It ran a 8.15 @ 88 in the 1/8 spinning so needless to say when I couldnt hear his car running at the light I thought I was about to smoke his ass......surprised me. I think it was stock because I was gaining quickly on top end but he still had me till atleast 100

Funny thing is Im such an LT1 fan Ive been bragging about getting beat all day today :laugh:

I love my LT1 and it surprises me with the cars it beats, but a stalled tuned LS1 should beat a STOCK one pretty good. Good win for him nonetheless.

Like I said, I had never raced it from a dig and totally hazed the tires. From a roll I would have easily won...

I think that LT1 had some stuff done to it to fend off an LS1, even with a blown launch, to 100. But a win is a win. Im curious what you find out about it.

Why? To make up 2 to 2 1/2 car lengths on someone in 8 or 9 seconds is a pretty tall order for a mostly stock a4 vs his m6.

You aren't BASICALLY STOCK dude. Stall/gears/bolt-ons/tune = nowhere near stock. Your car potentially runs mid 12's. His car high 13's IF STOCK. You botched the launch and only caught up to him by 100mph. So unless you totally blew the launch, he has other stuff done to fend off a mid 12 second car. Thats 7 car lengths minimum you would've had to make up if he was stock. If it was only 2-1/2 he's potentially running low 13's high 12's himself.

Im merely going by your mods. I know anything can happen on the street, but if he's stock, good for him, but I doubt it with your mod list and how far he fought you off.

I said MOSTLY STOCK dude, its never had a valve cover off. This car might run a low 13 high 12 on a good day, it usually runs low to mid 8.30s.

Take it easy. Jesus. All right, your car is MOSTLY stock....with lid, stall, gears, tune...and can barely catch up to a stock LT1

The other car ran good, I have no clue what was done to it. I didnt say I had trouble catching him, I said I let out at 100 and he still had me. I dont like racing to 130 mph on the street just to win even though I could have that night. Thanks for your response :peace2:
