Does anyone that has modded the sbc shim gaskets to work for lt1 heads have and
pictures after they trimmed them? I just want to make sure i get it right before
i throw them on. Thanks

not helping but what cr and quench you shooting for with the shim gasket.?

around 10.5 with the shim.... stock deck height and 60cc chambers .... -7cc pistons

Well something tells me i might be the first person to use these on sbc converted heads. Ive got it figured out i think. Ill take pics. Not sure how they work on stock heads tho the ridge goes right thru the large water port on the top of the head.

not to change the topic, (and sorry to ask an offtopic question)
but how are these any better than a MLS gasket, or a cometic?
are they just thinner?

Yes im trying to get the most compression i can. It isnt the optimal way to do it but almost my whole build was put together with parts i.e heads,pistons,rods crank ect... i had sitting in the garage from a past project.

i wonder if you could just drill out the rivets on a cometic, and use the center layer, or one of the outer layers? wouldn't that be the same thing?

To be honest im not sure . Im using these because people have used them on stock motors to bump up comp. Thats a idea tho. Id have to look at one and see if it would seal.
