A ported TB would be all you need. a 58mm is too much for a stock ci motor.
I dont even think there would be enough justice for a 52mm, I would probably spend the money towards suspension or cam swap.

A ported stocker 52mm would as far as I would go with your current mods. A set of 1.6 Roller Rockers would show a better gain though. Reading most forums leaves a guy to think that there isn't one bolt-on worth doing.

basically, port it and save your $$ for something you REALLY want. if you did top end, it would definitely be more efficient for the setup. 52 would be the biggest i'd go in that case.

Put it towards a better catback and ditch the gaymaster.

My car has a twin 58 on it and dynoed around 400whp, I was told to put a stocker back on to pick up somemore power.

Any results on that?

with the stock intake you wont get anything out of it.. Get rid of the slowmaster and get a magnaflow

And TUNE the car.....

I'm still a big believer that Mods without a tune, is not worth it.....

If a tune alone unlocks hp, why would you sink money into mods, and NEVER tune....

so dont change the throttle body because its pointless but do change to gaymaster to gain 1-2 hp?if any,,

what sounds good is very subjective,,honestly i think magnaflow is a waste of money as well,,its way to tame why even bother,,

ill keep my gaymaster because i like how it sounds,,but knowing what i know now i def would have spent my money elsewhere instead of getting my 52mm

chris keep us updated on what you gain with the smaller tb

That's absurd.

How true this is. Most people respond in a negative manner and have never used the product. I can't figure out how that full bolt-on Impala guy swapped his stock throttle body "on the dyno" to a 52mm and gained that 7 rwhp,, instantly. Any gain is a plus. People hesitate to use certain things and wonder why they can't run 12's with bolt-ons. Over the last 10 years I've picked up 44 rwhp with an airfoil, tb bypass, cai, tune, ewp, dampner set (pulley's), springs & rockers and shorty headers with an x pipe.
I do have a new BBK 52 that I bought 5 years ago, I think I'll install it this year and see if it helps.

 I just thought it was funny that you used "gaymaster" while defending it. To each his/her own on the sound. I thought my old Magnaflow was quiet but it had nice tone.

Glad the OP decided to go with a stall, although it would have been easier to put on when his tranny initially grenaded and was built. Don't forget the tune for it.

probably a little different with a set up like yours popo lol,,my oppinion based purely on a stockish setup,,,but proves the point that there is no right or wrong answer its simply preference

i hear the "gaymaster" bashing all the time yet i constantly get compliments on how "mean" my car sounds to be still running cats and stock manifolds,,

makes me wonder if the bashing is just the popular thing to do

Its like this.... people can ask for advice if they wanted, and when they do they should expect positive and negative feedback, and they should not be upset either way. Period. I love the sound of a flowmaster, when I had my exhaust done when I first got the car.... Magnaflow was what was in stock. Im not even sure where Im going with this anymore, so let me end with... is it time for BG KY yet and "ODOYLE RULES!"

instead of the throttle body, ditch the Y pipe and get an X pipe
