I posted a thread like this on LS1toke and there were a few good ideas, and a few ideas that would require a $200,000 investment to make happen for a relatively small market. So I'd like to hear what you guys have to say. As soon as my shop is moved and I get my tools back from the movers, I'd like to get the opti-eliminator project finished within 2-3 weeks. I think there's a pretty big demand for a upper dash replacement panel, I'd like to 'glass it or do it in carbon fiber with a matte finish. Gregrob has mentioned doing an integrated 2-3 gauge pod in the dash pad which I can do when my vacuum bagging stuff gets unpacked. Anything else you'd guys like to see in the next 3 months or so?

2-3 gauge pod full pillar for camaros
Definitely the dash panel idea
Possibly door skins to replace the door panels (for more race oriented cars) - think sheet metal door panels to shave weight (however this might suck to ship)

That's all I can think of for now, I'm sure there's a bunch more

Oh yea and someone mentioned in another thread, some type of clip in block off plate for those who reroute their fuel lines (for the hole that is left under the hood)

Firebird vent inserts so gauges fit in them. I also like Ryans fuel line hole block off idea. Ill try and think of more

You can make them for like 10 dollars with stuff from any hardware store,

i really like the dash panel idea! Can you make a dash molding for the earlier year camaro's? something for the double din guys or something to fill in the bottom section if you convert to an 96-02 center console.

I dont know if its possible, but I would love to have some kind of aftermarket or strong rear end that doesnt cost 2-3Gs

i think a good website 2 go along with your products would be nice so people could see what all u have 2 offer and at what price... but i dont know how much of a pita or how much $ it is 2 make a website so it may be more trouble than its worth.

Another vote for the carbon fiber dash pad, I say that after spending 2 days glueing, sanding, and painting mine but If I have to remove it again I'm sure it's gonna break! Also another vote for something to fill the squate fuel line hole in the driver wheel well after relocating fuel lines. How about a carbon radiator support or valve covers. I'd be up for a set of carbon valve cover "covers" to look like carbon ones if they looked decent! A light weight front bumber support that keeps the nose from colapsing like others make but without the $400 price tag.

i agree with the valve covers also. theres not much 2 choose from out there 2 get a decent workin/good looking valve cover.

I'll get working on the upper dash pieces, also going to do LSx coil bracket mounts in several different styles. The gauge pillars for hard top guys... might be easier on an exchange basis with a 2-3 day turnaround. I could 'glass in 2-4 guage mounts and it'd look like a factory piece. I'm doing switch/gauge panels for those who've deleted their radios and climate controls.

There's a lot of options to alot of this stuff that I'm doing, I'd rather give people 110% satisfaction in their purchase, even if it means a little time and communication to deliever exactly what each individual customer is looking for.

A radiator cover in CF would be easy, as would door panels. I'll have to see what kind of margins I'd be working with for carbon fiber valve covers.

for the door panels, you would have to integrate something for those who have power windows/locks (so they still have the buttons)

but also something for those with manual windows/locks

I say with everyone doing the Lid swaps now the radiator support with a hole cut out for the lid to fit into so you can get rid of the ugly LS1 support or a cut LT1 support???

Id be first in line to get one :shiner:

another vote for the dash pieces, mine looks like a jigsaw puzzle poorly place together especially the center vent looking piece

I'd be down for an LT1 lid setup.

Integrated pod/pillar that looks stock would be sick.

Plus one for a lid support. I have a cowl hood and still couldnt get it to work. FML and my skills

I would also like a new dash, but not sure if I would be down with the carbon fiber look.

carbon fiber dash with gauge pods is a cool idea. I also like the LS1 lid swap rad support parts.
How about a service fabbing an 8.8 housing. Do it on an exchange basis.

Back to the Low profile lild and Radiator support

Telling you this would be a HUGE hit maybe not as huge as the Opti elimination

But Ill post my times before and after my Lid swap

13.332 at 106.3 with a 2.01 60 time

13.229 at 107.6 with 2.1 60 time

so with a .1 less 60 i still picked up a .1 up top so I think for what was actually changed thats a HUGE gain.

NOTHING done what so ever other then the Lid Swap the DAs were deadly close to each other and ive talked to a few tuners saying there is more out of the Lid swap with a tune (PCMforless and Solomon bother verified this)

THIS sir would be a TRUE hit!!!!!:devil::devil:

how about an 8.8 install kit where all you need is the 8.8 rear end? i've seen aftermarket t/a set-ups mustangs use for the 8.8 that bolt on, so a similar set-up would keep welding to a minimum i would think.

i love the low-profile lid idea to clear a stock lt1 camaro hood

love the carbon dash idea, especially with integrated gauges

a <$100 radiator support would be great

the fuel line relocation block off idea is good too, maybe with something cool engraved in it?

i REALLY like the idea of something to finish the gap between the dash and console for guys that do the 97-02 console swap into 93-96 cars. or hell, even some kind of replacement hinge that will fix the broken console lids everyone has

A cheaper 24X reluctor for coil pack LS1 PCM conversions.

I'm not stepping on EFI Connections side of the market... I'm doing a 4x to run a van program with one of my modified optis as a distributor and cam sensor. My plug n play kit WILL BE CHEAPER than a budget DIY attempt at a 24x setup.

I've been SLOOOW with the opti eliminator stuff but getting laid off and moving 1500 miles for a new job has really dampened my abilities to do R&D. I should be all settled in next weekend to start developing again. The "LTx Lid" sounds good, I'll definitely start working on that ASAP.
