finally got a good run with the Duramax today, against a stock '02 Trans Am WS6. went from a 15 roll, me starting in 3rd gear. he honked it off, and we were off. he got a car jump on me as i waited for the turbo to spool, then at the top of 3rd i about blew the tires off. quick shift into 4th cured that problem, and then i started reeling him back in. another shift to 5th and i pulled even with him. slammed into 6th gear and put half a car on him till i hit my rev limiter (112mph).
not bad for a 7300lbs truck with a triple disc clutch and tune. and before anyone claims BS, it dynoed 598rwhp and 1042rwtq.
and yes, this is the big old service truck i'm talking about here...:secret:

those duramaxes have a buthload of torque after gear reduction. I mean just think about the fact that he hit a rev limiter in 6th gear at 112. although they don't rev high, that still makes a good point

good run, bet he didn't expect it. So, what's done to the ol dirtymax? Truck's making some serious torque. Do they come with a triple disc clutch, or did you put that in?

Diesels can be deadly to the lowly unspecting gasser car/truck/motorcycle.
Just be carefull slamming that big old ZF tranny in that duramax. I went through my tranny in the ford twice before tossing it and going to a built BTS auto.

factory clutch is a single disc that can only hold about 350bhp. triple disc is rated a little higher. and it's basically a clutch/tune truck. that's it.

What do you have for exhaust on that truck?
