Is it common for the LT1 to get condensation in the oil pan from sitting in cold weather to long (over winter) and then a warm weather streak hits?

I checked the oil and found a little bit of light streaks on the dipstick, I wipe it clean and insert the dipstick again and pull it out and the oil is fine.

Started up the car
I've let it sit for an hour and checked it again and the oil is still good.

I'ver read about condensation building up in the dipstick tube but nothing about in the oil pan.

By the way this engine has been rebuilt with new gaskets and seals also.

Depending on how it was stored it is a possibility..

Yes it's completely normal. Your PCV system is designed to pull that moisture out of the crankcase and deposit it into the intake plenum to be evaporated. Ever leave a bottle of water inside your car for too long? Don't worry about it. Just change the oil and you're good to go.

The car was stored in a garage with no heat, moisture was coming up through the floor on warm days.

I hope so RamAir95TA
