So as many of you know, I have been gone away for the Air Force for the past few years. I have been away from friends, family, and have not driven my 95 Z in my sig consistantly since the summer of 2008. This year, I was finally hoping on getting it out (in a few weeks), and enjoying the summer with it again. Words can't express how much I miss driving my old LT1.

Anyways, as many of you watch the news, Japan is in a terrible state of emergency. Don't know what will happen, but if we do send over a great amount of relief via military jets, my job as a tanker pilot will probably put me somewhere in the pacific refueling everyone to get them around. Meanwhile in Africa, there are talks of enforcing a "no fly zone" in Libya. This would also depend heavily on airborne tankers to get the job done.

Now, niether of these possibilities are for sure, or even planned for me. And if they are eventually, I wouldn't even be able to discuss it for security reasons. If I do go, I go happily getting to do the job I love. But its just that I have been doing it before away from everyone and everything for so long, I am really hoping to get a break this summer and get to spend some much needed time home driving my Z, spending time with friends and family.

Here's to the hope of a summer of enjoyment. CALL911 style!

You and me both pal! I am really hoping I will be around. I've got nothing that says I won't so far, so hopefully it stays that way (I just registered for the shootout today with my non-refundable fee).

The bigger issue with that will actually be popo8. He will be at the shootout, but he has said he's not gonna race. I am hoping by me calling him out, he will get out there just once for a one time down the track against me.

We both have D1SC's and built motors. It should be a decent run. I may have a few more things done than him, but my car has never ran super at the track compared to how amazing it runs on the street.

What rearend do you have? Borrow someones slicks.

It's not the rearend, or the slicks. I've got a 12 bolt that is bulletproof, and I run slicks on them. The problem is that I have huge aftermarket Baer brakes up front. And there are no skinnies that fit up front. So with the slicks on the back, and big wheels and tires up front, the car is very scary to keep ahold of going down the track, and it just doesn't perform how it would with skinnies. I've tried more than 4 different skinnes up front with spacers. None of them would clear the brakes even with the spacers.

My car has beat a LSX Camaro which consistantly runs a 10.01 at the track on the street (and that was with drag radials for me on the street). But at the track, I have not done better than a low 11.

His top end had me. But that was well past the 1/4 mile point.
