Okay, so I got off the phone just now with popular turbo set-up builder for LSx cars, who will be left unnamed, and I am looking at possibly purchasing my new turbo next week. I explained to him I'm a rear-mounted LTx car, with fully-forged bottom end with stock bore, and asked him to spec me a turbo. He recommended a Precision billet-wheel 67mm T4. I know the billet wheel will spin faster, blah blah blah... F/I people... your thoughts?

some(any?) information on your set-up might make it possible to give you a recommendation.....its like asking "hey what cam should i run".....usually if your dealing with a reputable builder, theyre usually spot on for the information you gave them pertaining to your expectations.

With running a rear mount i would try to keep the a/r down a bit so it will spool quickly.

93phoenix is correct. If you would like reccomendations, we will need more info on your car or FI needs/desires.

Generally speaking a 67mm turbo should be decent for making the power you want (500), and then some. Unlike some of the larger turbo's it won't have as much turbo lag. Depending on your setup will determine the specifics.

Why stay with a rear mount though? Why not go with a front mount turbo? With the easy power that can be made on the front mounts, the rear mounts never made much sense to me.
