Cruise control is not working

The cruise in my car isn't working. Its a 94 Trans Am automatic. The fuse AC works so the fuse is good, brake lights all light up, the CC components all seem to be intact. The wires aren't frayed. Im thinking it could be the stalk itself. Do they go bad? Also does anyone know if stalks are interchangeable in the 4th gens, like will a 97 or '02 stalk work in my 94?

I would love to get cruise control working before I drive 1800 miles in a few weeks to Washington

Thanks man! Hard to tell from the pic, but it was a junkyard rescue and that's its bad side. Sold it to a numbskull who doesn't know Paint chips from Rice Crispies. I need to change it to my current 94 Trans Am, but I love that pic of it. The pic is big enough to envy and small enough to hide its flaws.
