View Full Version : will I hit my goal??? 600RWHP

My car is almost done and Im hoping to hit the 600RWHP mark. My car is a forged 383 9:1 cr, CC305 114 lsa, stock ported heads and intake, vortech T- trim with about 15psi, I will be on 91 oct and meth, stock rear (for now) and a M6. Do you think this will get me there? If not what is my weak point?

If what your saying is all correct, its going to come down to tunning and everything working properly.

And what ignition system, coil, opti, box, etc are you running?

I def see mid 500s

That's a pretty small cam to meet that goal and especially small for a 383

YEAH, thats the other thing I wanted to say, IDK cams and specs well enough to say if your cam is ok for your build....

Yup, cam and heads will probably hurt, depending on who ported the heads, I ran LT4 heads, ported with a cam in the 244 duration range, and @ 12lbs I made 648 RWHP on a 383. and like said, Need Good Tuning..

How do you know you will get 15 pounds of boost? Just because you pulley it for what you want does not mean you will get that much. Boost will be measured not only on what pullies you have and blower setup, but what heads, cam, intake, exhaust, and air inlet system you have. I gained 100 RWHP and 6 pounds of boost just by changing my air inlet from a previous one. Boost will make a big difference is what I am saying, so not knowing exactly what it is will be a big unknown.

Say you do get 15 pounds, and everything else is what you say. I don't believe you will hit 600 RWHP. The heads are too restrictive even if they were very heavily ported by an expert. That combined with the small cam and stock ported intake, I just don't see it happening, even if you have a great tune.

If you want to get there, just get some bigger heads, and a better cam for the blower, and you should see north of 600 RWHP no problem.

If you've spent the money on a good forged block, and a good T-trim, and have the fuel system all setup correctly, a good heads and cam shoulnd't be out of your price range if you've already spent the amount needed for everything else.

You may be able to hit it, just depends. I'm over 700rwhp on pump w/ LT1 heads and intake so it CAN be done.

Yes but you have a different cam, and an F1 (among some other goodies).

True, but I know of a few D1Sc's hitting 700rwhp...should've clarified as I don't fit the conversation per say. But then I also know of a few F1's hitting only 650-660ish w/ bigger cam and heads then I. So it's a toss up.

I got a baby cam it ain't much but it gets the job done. Very similiar to CC306.

You get the setup right, a D1SC can definatly hit 700 RWHP. If I had bigger heads and a different intake, I am confident my car would easily get there.

Yeah, I know a few of the lower to mid 600's RWHP hitting F1 setups as well. But a lot of those guys are running less boost.

I agree completely though. Totally depends on the combo. For this threads sake, I still stand by that I believe this guys setup will not hit 600 to the wheels. I would like to see what he does hit though.

On another note. Its good to hear from you Silas! Great to hear your car is FINALLY done!

Ben, as for the car, she was done til the opti took a dump. LOL Going crank trigger and LS2 coil's now and shooting for 770rwhp. :D

Bringing this back from the dead. I'm now adding a big front mount intercooler and a v7 ysi. That being said will it get me 600 rwhp with my small cam and heads? Or could it make more?
