Ok well I finally did it I talked my best friend into going with an underdog.. he's picking up a 94 formula with his tax check.. we were talking and are wondering what it will run in the quarter mile run. As the car sits it has these current mods

5.7L lt1 with 155k miles
Automatic =(
Cold air intake
Throttle body bypass
4:10 richmond gears
Moser axles and studs
Edelbrock headers
Msd opti n wires
Msd blaster coil
Electric water pump
Slp 3in catback
3in High flow cat
1.6 roller rockers
Tuned with Hypertech programer included in sale also =)
Street tires

What do u think this will run guys? I say high 12s he says high 11s

13.3's is my guess. the stock stall is hurting u bad. get a stall and some drag radials and run 12.70's-90's depending on the da and altitude of your track

well the closest track to us would be english town nj. raceway park.. ill have to check it out a lil more he doenst have the car home yet should be picking it up next weekend after his tax check comes in he put a deposit down today

hypertech is junk. Sorry to be an ass in the first post but I thought you had been around this site long enough to know the capabilities of the LT1.

It takes WORK to get into the 11s let alone 10s.

Hypertech is only useful for changing the gear ratio in the computer for the gauges if it even does that

well then thats what the po did cuz he had switched to 410 gears.. ive only been on this site about 3 months now.. and mainly was for my swap.. which is going in stock.. i guess i gave the lt1 a lil to much credit..

and dont be surprised with some 14 sec times at first either,,nothing wrong with dreaming big i just think you have some unrealistic expectations thats all,,theres guys on here with much much cash invested pushing 450ish hp running low 11's

ive never had my car at the track but with my mods in sig id be pretty damn happy with a 13.xx time and wouldnt be suprised with a low 14

Maybe I give the LT1 too much credit as well. Your buddies' car has more mods than my car does and you can see my PB in my sig. The 1.6RR's and EWP are good for 15-20hp from what I've read, which I have neither of, and 4.10's really wake up an auto. I don't care if it has a stock converter or not, first gear is short enough it'll have traction issues regardless. I see it going a solid high 12 on a "fair" tire. Anybody who goes to the track on a street tire is just going for MPH purposes.

11's is out of question for sure though.

well he actually found a pair of drag radials today on craigslist idk if hes ganna pick them up but he might.. thats up to him.. and i have to believe that when he adds the other mods listed that he will have to be somewhere in atleast the low 11s with the nos..

what mods do u have to be running the time if ur sig ? if he has more mods then u do shouldnt he be just as fast if not slightly more? specialy with u having a m6? yea u can rev it a lil higher but u still loose a small amount of time on the launch and in between gears?

sounds good but he also has the 4.10 gears with and the 1.6 rockers.. and if he gets the drag radials i can see high 12s if ur running low 13s with a cai headers and full catback with a shift kit

The only problem I have shifting through the gears is with this factory shady clutch. Its a POS! I shift at 6000rpm, not sure what the autos shift at. I have long tubes, 3" ORY, 4.10s, CAI, 160 t-stat, and a set of 26x10.5 MT ET Streets.

well the only thing u have over his car besides the driver mod is the 26x10.5 MT ET Streets and the possibly the lt headers.. i didnt look to see if they were lt or shortys.. that and the stick over auto trans.. but u said its got the stock clutch. so u cant rev it like u would want to.. so on a good day with perfect conditions he could run a high 12 or very low 13.. and yes long live ur 10 bolt.. his didnt. thats why its got the 4.10s and the moser axels

I ran a 13.5 @ 105 with 3.23 gears with long tubes 1.6 open maf and a tune gears should get a 12.9. Get a tire and converter and get solid 12's

lt1s are picky as hell. we have a buddy that has same mods minus the RR's and he runs 13.2. just depends on if it was a factory freak car or not. with all those mods, plus a small stall and lt4 cam i went 12.8. but that was with a 170k lt1.
